Review: if you feel like having a quick bite around armadale, Philippa’s is your best bet. There were limited indoor seats and it was a chilly day, but we got a seat inside within 5 minutes. The chicken and leek pie ($10) went well with the accompanying tomato relish, which was a bit sweeter than usual.
Portions were generally on the smaller side, but it suited our preference for smaller meals. We generally manage our expectations when we have coffee at a bakery, and this was slightly better than average bakery standards.
I also love that the bakery sells a wide range of cookies and bottled sauces which would make great gifts for family and tourists. Will definitely be back if I’m shopping in the area.

Their olive bread is so addictive. I have been known to finish a loaf in one sitting! Other than that, the coffee and cakes are ok, but it's a bakery first and foremost.
Magnificent. Ordered savoury tarts and cakes as part of the catering for a funeral. People commented on how delicious the food was and they were right. Highly recommend the hazelnut meringue cake. That disappeared so quickly, as did the victoria sponge. They were very easy to work with and totally reliable.

I really like this place! It was reallyvosy and charming! The service was so friendly! The roast beef sandwich i had was simple but so yum! Every element was done really well! :) i really love the homely feel this place has :)
I really enjoy the food here, especially this time of year, for the Hot Cross Buns. They're a little pricy but after devouring many types at different outlets selling Hot Cross Buns, Phillippa's definitely have the nicest! Yum!
Can't go past this place without stopping in for a coffee and cake. It is like walking into an old fashioned bakery. All cakes and breads look delicious. Coffee is lovely, even though they don't have skim milk. Made to perfection. Have had a few cakes here but my favourite by far is the lemon tart. I am just in heaven when I eat this......
No skim, soy or almond for a coffee?!. I'm a bit astounded they don't do anything but full cream milk for a coffee but nevertheless it's a bit strange to say the least. A bit of a time warp in that respect but after a few times coming here the honey oat loaf is terrific, the Parmesan sables are delish and the mixed nuts are very spicy though -had a bit of a spice attack the other day. Lots of cool things on the walls to buy like condiments and sauces and the staff are friendly.
An Australian institution that keeps thriving. Coffee okay, cakes and pastries are top notch and at decent prices. Fantastic location. Chocolate brownie is a must try.
Delicious baked goods, bright and friendly service. Lots of bread and pastries to chose from. The sausage roll we had was very tasty and flavoursome. The lemon tart had a nice citrusy, creamy flavour as well.
Hands down the best pastries(both savory and sweet) I’ve had in Melbourne. Service is fast and friendly as well. If you’re in the area do drop by. Even if you’re not in the area, drop by! I think this place is a hidden gem worthy of making a trip 😋😋

The workers were so nice to me. They made the best extra hot latte for my mother and she liked it very much. Thank you for your hard work!
Delicious light baked goods. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had sandwiches for lunch, and they were excellent!
I called in very late last Friday, to my delight they had a few things left . Amongst a couple of the quality items I purchased was the pear and caramel bread and butter pudding which had just come out of the oven . My family loved this dessert I will be returning it received big praise from my family .
In addition the lady that served me was so accomodating and lovely even though it was the end of the day . This is what customer service is about .
