Frequent client since its inception and my very initial discovery from its small advertising promotion. Heartily recommend this cosy friendly restaurant with excellent offerings..
Good authentic Malaysian food. They have Yee Sang for CNY too. Good friendly service.
Parking is easy along High St on weekends. Definitely would recommend to others to try.
Best Chicken Laksa I have tasted in a long time ! Highly recommend ! Have ordered takeaway quite a few times now. The Laksa is packed with deep amazing flavours, the right amount of spice and a surprisingly fantastic variety of ingredients with quality pieces of chicken, puffy tofu, fish cake, okra, eggplant, mint, beans and both types of noodles. I would rate the chicken laksa 10/10! Very reasonably priced and service is friendly too. This is my ultimate comfort food !
We came here for a Lunar New Year celebration and had a swinging good time with a couple of special dishes created just for the season. The raw fish salad was amazingly well balanced with a wonderful combination of sweet, salty, sour and bitter. We also had the fried chicken with a layer of prawn paste under the crispy skin - genius! The marmite chicken was also well prepared and went really well with rice. The fish was well cooked but the sauce was slightly bland.
Service was lovely. Armadale isn't a place usually associated with Malaysian food but Ipoh Parade is certainly going to change that!

Recommended highly by a few friends . Many selection and regulars . The combination noodles was very nice but the soft shell crab feels it being in cold storage for months .
Wonderful Malaysian food, and one of the few spots in the area to get it. The space is simple but nice and service is too. There aren't tons of vegetarian dishes but many that can be made so, including the green curry and mapo tofu. Gado Gado and sambal eggplant are two great, naturally veg options.
Ipoh Parade - Armadale
Chicken Laksa
Well folks, I’ve officially moved. I’ve left the ever so glorious, ever so scummy Chapel Street and have moved all of 2 minutes down the road to Armadale. I moved in at 12pm and I was at the local soup shop at 12:30PM. Ipoh Parade offers a sensational lunch deal - $11 for a bowl of laksa. Absolute bargain, they are giving it away at this price. Ever so friendly, the staff showed me to my seat and moments later brought out a piping hot bowl of Laksa. HOLY HAT look at all the bright, wholesome ingredients. I’ve never seen a laksa packed with so much amazing goodness! We had long beans, tofu puffs, eggplant, chicken, fish cake, vietnamese mint and okra. I feel shocked, I feel stunned and I feel silly… How have I not visited this place before yet lived so close? The attention to detail that went into this dish was unbelievable.. for $11 too? The broth was a good balance between creamy and savoury, not too sweet yet had the right amount of spices. I’m just gobsmacked.. If like me you were upset at the offerings of Laksa close to chapel street then be upset no more because here is your place. Get in there and get around this bowl of soup and support these homely restaurants that give us back so much in return. Smash that 4.5/5 button!

The best laksa I have had in Melbourne. Better than Laksa King! The staff are super friendly and down for a chat as well. The laksa has a deep and tasty aromatic broth with heaps of delicious ingredients as well. They have mastered a dish that hasn't been mastered by many in melbourne!
Went here for a quick dinner. Ordered asam fish fillet, mapo tofu, mixed vege with beancurd and mushroom. Love the asam fish! The mapo tofu is an all time must have dish from this rest. On weekend always fully booked so go there on weekday instead
Tasty food and reasonable prices. I always get takeaway- usually the chicken laksa. Big portions and also great value if you purchase at lunchtime. The other day I tried the curry chicken with rice, also pretty tasty. Always flavourful and very quick service.
Unassuming restaurant with exceptional home style, authentic cooking. Packed with flavour. Even the prawn crackers are the best I’ve tried. So yum.
Very basic interior.
However the food is absolutely gorgeous. We ordered
Char kuoy teow- pretty authentic and the best we have had in Melbourne so far.
Fried rice salted fish and chicken - it was good and not too salty. The perfect match.
Water spinach with belacan- nice ratio and not too little/much belacan. Ideal
Curry fish- the star dish. Reminds us of home. Only complain was that it had capsicum which was unusual
Yam basket - not oily and very good
Definitely a hidden gem of Malaysian restaurant. I will definitely be back !!
Great food, reminds me of home! I highly recommend the Homemade Tofu with Broccoli and Minced Pork even if you're not into tofu, the texture and taste is different to your usual tofu.
We ordered 6 dishes for a group of 5 and was enough for us. Other than the tofu, we liked the Beef and Vegetables with Cashew Nut as well, but really they were all delicious!
Good Malaysian restaurant! Egg sauce hor fun has excellent wok hei. Can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes!!!
Really delicious Malaysian food and authentic as per my friends review as well.
The staff are very welcoming and make dining in a lovely experience.
Not to mention the $12 lunch menu is insanely good value. I have gotten the Laksa at least 12 times and I feel I am ripping them off only paying that much when it has chicken, bean Puffs, fish cakes, eggplant, 2 types of noodles and other ingredients I can't remember at this time.
I need to come try the Sunday specials as they have some dishes only available whilst in stock on a Sunday.
Amazing service and the most delicious Malaysian food I've ever eaten. Authentic and delicious. Serving size wasn't big but I'd take quality over quantity any day and this place is not lacking in quality that's for sure!! Will be coming again for the delicious and tender beef rendang!
The best Malaysian local restaurant, you go for the food and service, not the decor. We always have the vegan meat dishes.WOW!!! Worth a visit if you’re a local. You won’t be disappointed!
Fantastic Malaysian Food! We are so glad to have found this little gem. The flavours are authentic with great prices also. One of our go tos!
Review: ipoh parade has proven its mettle in serving up solid Malaysian dishes. I ordered the hor fun noodles in egg gravy sauce (better known as wat tan hor) in Melbourne.
Yes, I paid $14 but what I got in return made me feel like the price was somewhat justified (also, understandably the rent here would be higher here than other suburbs). There were generous amounts of fish cakes, chicken slices, prawns and even little squid slices. The best part was the noodles - it was charred quite perfectly, and when it’s paired with egg gravy sauce.... heaven. Do not forget to ask for pickled green chilli just for that extra kick in your meal.
I have not sampled their other dishes so I guess this review feels somewhat premature. Stay tuned for more.
Good Malaysian food in Armadale. They made good lou yew sang for Chinese New Year. Decent selection of dishes. Love the ice lo hon guo dessert which was very authentic. Make sure you book a spot to avoid disappointment as there are not many tables in the restaurant.
