Cosy, charming pub with a beautiful fireplace for cold winter nights. I had the hangar steak which was cooked to perfection and easily the best I have had in years. My Dad went for the beef schnitzel which was HUGE and he was not disappointed!
$7.50 for a Guinness ( can only ) with an open fire and no pretentious Bartenders! 5* will return . Lived across the road for two years and never went, oh how I regret that now
Great old styled pub with delicious food . Couldn’t go wrong with the $15 Tuesday parma. Very good friendly service.
Will soon be back there to try the rest of the menu.
Food was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and accommodating. My salt and pepper calamari were tender and tasty, and the beer selections are fantastic.
I just love this place. A few years ago I was worried this place would just run itself into the ground but after new management took over and a new chef came on board I bloody love coming here for a bite to eat.
The oysters are delicious and are never too small, my Dad loves the Orrong Burger, my Sister loves the steak and I have been here multiple times throughout the week but my favourite is the $14 Monday night Parma night.
I have never had a bad Parma here and the chips are so nice and salty.
They have a nice little dining room, a side room with a pool table and dart board which could house a larger group and of course the bar - my favourite.
Highly recommend for family nights, meal with friends or just a twosome on one of the special nights.
An old styled pub that serves amazing food! We had a group of 10 that decreased , then increased , we were very late for our booking but nothing was a drama ... So far the best steaks on high street all 9 dishes were to rave about and not to mention the 1.5 L of red wine in offer for an excellent price . Well done!
An establishment for the neighbouring suburbs, the go to pub on the corner of high street and Orrong road offers a rugged entry with the familiar smells of beer and cheerful conversation. Following the doors to enter the restaurant, I was warmly welcomed seated and browsed over the menu. With the classic pub favourites, the head chef clearly has embraced his ability to take a spin on the local favourites. Taking me back to my European adventure my eyes focused on the Vienna veal Shintzeal. The wait time was comfortable to allow conversation whilst building up hunger. The atmosphere ranged from families enjoying a night out, friends and family and couples. Clearly a crowd pleaser. The decor was sophisticated, refined but like coming home to your families leather couch. Around the tables, along the walls series of photographs gave character. When my meal arrived I was taken but to the smells of creamy potato salad, crumbed veal and a generous serving of lemon to drizzle over. The meal itself was satisfying and lingered in my mouth, the bowl of serving was awkward, dull and hard rest my cutlery during the meal. The conclusion of the evening was smooth, professional and a warm welcome back made the experience a fond memory for choice of a good pub meal.
Great job, can't wait to return!
Incredible meal, the Blue Eye with tomato and olive salsa was delish, the staff were attentive, and the owner was very chatty, highly recommended :-)
Discovered the Orrong Hotel a few months ago on a recommendation. What a find. Great local pub. Good steaks, comfortable setting - just what a pub should be. Not fine dining, but a place that offers comfort food, friendly service, cold beers and a decent wine list and meets the needs of the local, and not so local, community.
Loving the new owners. Good pub food. Not pretentious. Everything a local should be. The new owners are bringing back authenticity to the local pub.
