We love Claire's Gallery. My two daughters can't get enough and it has become our regular home away from home. Claire is attentive and thoughtful and the food keeps us coming back for more. Highly recommended for families, friends or couples up for a cosy evening.
Came on a lazy Sunday and had the Teriyaki Salmon Bento box. Bento boxes are quite popular at this place and it was relatively packed. The miso soup that comes with the Bento box was not too salty and hit the spot. The Bento box tasted pretty delicious. Portions may be small to some but it was the right size overall.
Took our dogs for a walk along Balmain today when we walked passed this place and decided we should come back to it because of how amazing the food smelt. We ordered the special lunch bento which was only $17 when normally it would be $22. We thought that was quite a significant saving especially for anything else in Balmain (probably get a smashed avo on toast & coffee for $17 here). The food was amazing and the service was great. I had to alter the menu a little bit because I couldn't eat anything raw but they were totally cool with it. Then, after we had paid, the waiter comes out with a platter of fruit as a special gift "for the baby" knowing I was pregnant. Super sweet and unexpected. Loved it.
👅Taste-wise : delicious.
💰Price-wise : it's alright.
🙇🏻♂️Staff treatment : super friendly.
🍽Portion size : decent.
We had lunch today and we were very pleased with the food and the service. The taste was delicious and the staff was very friendly too. And they gave us a complimentary fruit too.
The mix of Modern Australian with a hint of Mediterranean into traditional Japanese is just pure artistry on the part of Sushi Master, Chef Charles!
Classic Sushi Rolls and Sashimi are feature the freshest catches of the day and are impeccably done.
When you read CAULIFLOWER SALAD on the menu, you have pre-conceived ideas of what will happen in the kitchen and it will be absolutely nothing like the serving of astonishment at what's brought to the table. The rich burgundy from the beetroot ‘petals’ strikes you as the salad protrudes off the plate into a lotus formation.
The dorsal cut of JAPANESE EGGPLANT is about half an inch thick, is pan fried to crisp then grilled. There's a slight crunch outside and mousse textured inside as you break through with your for enjoying the syrup of their secret sauce, miso paste, parmesan, spring onion and leek.
Definitely worth a try!
All foods were greatly delicious and sashimi plate was so fresh:) The ambeience and services were outstanding!!!!! awesome we will be back!!!!!!!!!!
I have been to Claire's gallery twice in the last month one for a friends birthday dinner an the other for a foodie event. Both times I left feeling extremely satisfied and happy with the food that is served here and I would recommend this place based on my personal experience as the ingredients that they use are all fresh and delicious! The meats are succulent and marinated well and the sashimi was fresh too. I also loved the beef roll and salmon roll!!
I definitely recommend their Seafood & sizzling beef dinner menu if you want to get a taste of everything!!
What a great little sushi place!! The sushi is soo fresh that it comes out warm. My favourites were the grilled salmon roll and the soft shell crab roll, which were both inside out. They were so delicious! We also ordered tuna and avocado and chicken teriyaki rolls, as well as the waygu steak, the beef rolls, the fried eggplant and the scallops. Everything was amazing and tasty!!
One downfall is that the food takes a while to come out, but apart from this, the service staff were very very friendly and welcoming. They always aimed to make sure we were happy and enjoying our meal. Also, the prices are very reasonable!!
So this restaurant is great for fresh, cheap and tasty sushi! I will return very soon :)
Claire's Galley is always an excellent experience. Their food is exceptional, and always top quality. Their crab cream croquette is exquisite, and their crumbed oyster is delish!!!
The staff are lovely, friendly, and very attentive. Sometimes you can even get a magic show from Neo, the resident magician.
Fantastic little place, newly opened. Friendly and attentive service and amazing food, beautifully presented! We had the Pork Gyoza which were probably the best Gyoza I have ever had and I have been to Japan 8 times....crumbed Oysters and then for mains we had Teriyaki Chicken and the Snapper with rice for one which we shared...for just two of us, that was enough to eat without being ridiculously full. Great value for money, we will definitely be back to try some other dishes!
Had lunch there today and everything was quite good so maybe avoid Sunday for dinner?
Previous Sunday dinner review...
First course and last course looked and tasted ok everything in the middle was a bit bleh.
Totally perfect experience with this dining shop. Claire and Chef, other staffs are very kind and foods are lovely. I had dinner with my family and friends, and order a lot of things during rush time, but they served the foods as really smoothly, and explained us when food delayed.
I thing most people are regular customers and that things make this shop as more best at all.
I highly recommend you guys try to be in this shop! You must be there again when you have experience with this.!!
We dined at Claire's tonight and were very impressed. The service was impeccable and the food was fresh, tasty and quick to arrive on the table. We selected each meal from the chef's recommendation menu at the front and our choices did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.
Very nice food, friendly staff and good toys etc., to keep the young children occupied. Bento box was great and the kids menu is nice with some great extras. Have had some slight hiccups with our order both times we've been, but I'd still go again and recommend...
Authentic Japanese food - we stopped by for a quick lunch bite and it was delicious! Recommend the salmon teriyaki and the spicy curry (we had the prawn and vegetable ones). We were served a free fruit salad at the end, thought that was a very nice touch you rarely see these days. Place was filled with Japanese customers having thier Sunday lunch, so that probably speaks for the authenticity of the food. Not pricey, friendly service and kid friendly (there's stuff for kids do fiddle with and you can hang up the artwork on their wall after). We will be back here again for dinner with a Groupon we recently purchased.
