Rosso Pomodoro is my favourite pizzeria in Sydney. We have been eating there since 2006 and it never disappoints. The pizza bases are thin and the toppings are always seasonal and very Italian. They don’t do ham and pineapple and they don’t do half half. It’s casual and now licensed but you can BYO. The service is always excellent. It’s the perfect week night treat. #rossopomodoro
I came here with my mum and sisters and got a table facing outside. The service was outstanding and they had a great time.
The Margeret is pizza rivals some of Sydney’s greats.
We also had the yummy bruschetta and the lasagne.
Place is also BYO.
Sausage and Potato pizza - very good.
Capriciosa pizza - good
Rosso Pomodoro salad - great
Special rocket, pear, walnuts and truffle cheese - delicious
Fantastic, friendly service and a nice cozy atmosphere.
Started out with the Antipasto Della Casa, and it had a wonderful selection of cured meats, cheeses, bread sticks, and fresh olives. The highlight of the dinner was the Tartufo Pizza, and it had more than a generous serving of truffles. Hopefully it will make its way on to their permanent menu, as this was on the specials board. Excellent authentic Italian food.
Really good pizza here! Thin base and puffy crusts, they also have vegan options. I ordered the vegetarian pizza which was yum, I think I would probably get a spicy/salami option next time.
Oh I’m sorry, were you looking for an average pizza place? HOW ABOUT THE BEST PIZZA PLACE IN THE WORLD! Everything about Rosso oozes genuine Italian, from the service, to the BYO wine, to the simple yet amazingly satisfying pizza. I recommend starting with olives and creating your own board, the Jamon is expensive but well worth it, get a couple of cheeses but avoid breadsticks so not to fill up prematurely before the pizza.
And make sure to leave room for desert, specially made cheesecakes fresh every day and a modest selection of gelato will leave you wanting to come back just for the desert.
We have been coming here for years. Yes, the acoustics are poor and the service is usually rushed (but still friendly) - because they are always full up, which is clearly a good sign anyway, so thank your lucky stars you got a seat.
Dunno about the pasta - we never get past the fabulously authentic Napoli-style pizzas, with their fresh and rich ingredients.
Great pizza! This is our go to for pizza in Sydney and helps that its close to home. Always perfectly cooked and deliciously wood fired pizza. We always get one tomato and one white base plus a salad to share between us and it's always delicious. We've also taken family a few times and ordered the antipasto della casa to share which includes a generous helping of meat, cheese, bread sticks and antipasto, highly recommended. BYO wine is an added bonus. The place has a casual yet friendly vibe. Booking is recommeded as this place gets packed. A must go for anyone visiting inner west Sydney
Couldn't agree with Carly (below) more. This place is the bomb. Even the over-the-top, garish 80s decor is easily subsumed by the epic authentic sourdough pizza from Ketty and the team. Simply amazeballs. Would be great if they invested in some pumping sounds but even that's a bit harsh, may not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally like the ode to Italian folk music and Stevie G. xx
Yummy!! Everything is served fresh and hot! The place is very small though, you can hear the other tables talking and you need to talk loud to make yourself heard. Good for family and groups.
It's a nice little Italian restaurant. Pasta option isn't the best and serving won't fill you up. Pizza was tasty but I love my wood fire pizza. Great service friendly staff
Again, their quality is absolutely second to none. I have given a 5/5 review for their Bondi Junction restaurant, and this Balmain restaurant deserves the same.
Food was immaculate as always, and every single time I walk out of the restaurant feeling that I have over eaten just because of how delicious the pizzas and desserts are; not to mention their impressive range of imported Italian beers.
You can truly tell the dedication and pride the husband and wife owners place in their business. I have lost count of the amount of times I have visited Rosso Pomodoro, and I will continue to eat there again and again as long as the restaurants still stand.
Rosso Pomodoro is definitely responsible for the excess kilos on me, however every single one of those kilos are absolutely worth it.
I would give this restaurant more stars if I could. Thank you for the great experiences, and the food comas.
Margherita is perfect!
but the special (truffle) wasn’t good.😭
The Bruschetta pizza is to die for! Amazing as a entree but would be just as good as a main! The base is always incredible- fluffy but crisp/crunchy outside. Any prosciutto pizza is fantastic! Their specials board (comes & goes) rocket, prosciutto & fig pizza tastes so light and refreshing. My dads go to pizza if On their specials board is their chilli, cherry tomato and prawn pizza as pictured below. This restaurant is my favourite pizza place In Sydney! The service they provide is great! Definitely a must go for good pizza! The restaurant can get a little loud but the food is well worth it!
The best pizza I have ever had. So fresh and yummy.
Perfect pizza. They only make pizza and antipasto platters and that’s all you need. So damn good! Great value and consistent in flavour every time. Cannot fault this place.
Absolutely another top pizza spot in Sydney. If you love the large, floppy pizza with a thin (delicious) base, you will love this place. There are a lot of pizza joints in Sydney, however if you want one of the best, this is the place.
Every bite was on point.
The best pizzas in Sydney, hands down. Look no further wasting your time. Do yourself a favour and try their pizza (Margarita Regina), you will become a lifetime customer 👌🏻👍🏼
