My regular weekend breakfast spot due to the great food, people, & efficiency. I pre-order and can dash in and pick up!! Bacon and egg roll with tomato relish is a winner
Maybe had high expectations so found the food is average, nice location tho you can see the city view, the omelette taste bit plan and frenchie wasn’t that good compared to Euforia
Cosy little peninsula cafe serving Campos coffee and a decent sized breakfast and lunch menu. Have been here many times over the years as we used to live around the corner.
Last weekend I went back for the first time in ages and ordered chicken omelette. The chicken was a bit dry and lacked seasoning, the gruyere cheese was nice and the omelette itself was well cooked. Perhaps not the best ingredient combo for an omelette as their other food has always been decent.
The coffee is still good, as always.
This is our first time coming to Birchgrove so we did a bit of Google map search before driving. We found that there is a peaceful Birchgrove wharf just a min drive away from the park so we have decided to come and take some sick pic. . The wharf is facing the Harbour Bridge and you can just take a ferry to go some other places from around AUD 7+ per adult. Otherwise, it is a really peaceful and you would often found a few people fishing here but make sure you are following the Aussie's rule when you fish here (I have no idea though).
A gorgeous cafe in Balmain that has a totally unsuspecting view out the back over the city! Came here for a Saturday brunch and it's a gorgeous spot to just relax with a coffee and read the paper, or catch up with friends. There's beautiful hanging plants and a nice cosy vibe.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Here's what we had:
- corn fritters. My current breakfast obsession, these were really nice. Nice little stack that came served with a nice chive sauce and a roasted tomato.
- eggs Benedict. A big serving piled with scrambled eggs, ham and a drizzle of delicious Hollandaise.
- pancakes. Yasss classic simple pancakes as they should be! Served with a beautiful presentation of fruit and maple syrup these were perfection!
A lovely cafe in a quiet area, as per recommendation by @clairemcpherson.cpm.

The quality of ingredients was on point; wholemeal bread, fresh fruits and veggies, and so on. Combined with fresh juice, I opted for the green machine, a combination of apple and celery- I was very impressed that such a large breakfast could feel so healthy. We are very lucky in Sydney, we have heaps of cafes around which are full of great quality food made out of amazing ingredients, the stuff we can get from there is fairly healthy aswell, take that amazing smoked salmon eggs benedict for example 😍😍, healthy and packed with protein 👌🏻👌🏻
For a Sunday brunch, we ventured to Birchgrove to Charlotte’s Cafe, ready to sample some of their Insta-worthy and delicious brunch dishes! To drink, we started off with the mixed berry smoothie, and the green juice with celery, apple, cucumber and mint. The juice was refreshing and not too sweet, which was great to balance out our delicious brunch. We ordered two dishes to share – the first was the Veg Out, which had an amazing poached eggs, mushroom, avocado, baby spinach, roasted pumpkin and haloumi on sourdough bread. I especially loved the combination of fresh and roasted and cooked elements, and it was a healthy and nutritious start to the day!
Introducing my good friend Charlotte👋🏻She's a lovely little cafe in #birchgrove that you're going to wish you'd met long before now!☕️Full of natural light, great menu options and seriously large servings... I'm sure you two will hit it off no problem at all! So head down this weekend and say hello.. She's expecting you!😉@mybondisummer #mybondisummer
Most visitors to Balmain seldom venture beyond the main thoroughfare of Darling Street. It was therefore something of a novelty to visit the lesser known suburb of Birchgrove, no more than ten minutes’ walk from the hub of Balmain, for lunch on a sunny Sunday. Located on quiet Rowntree Street, Charlotte Café joins a newsagent and grocery shop to make up the few commercial establishments amongst the predominantly residential surroundings. Stepping into the single storey café, which could pass for a typical suburban bungalow, I felt as if I was visiting a friend’s house. The compact space is divided into two cosy dining areas while the open plan kitchen forms the centre of the operation.
We went on a saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing, an obvious local favourite. We jumped online to read the reviews for charlotte cafe on facebook and it seemed to have a couple of very negative reviews. Thus we didnt know what to except.
Soy Mocha - first time having soy mocha and we dig it. We got a large and boy it was a big cup! The negative reviews indicated coffee was awful but we found it to be quite good?
Green Machine juice - celery, apple, mint and cucumber. A very healthy drink if you are looking to detox. I hate drinking thick juice foam and you wont find any of that here at charlotte
Charlotte's special - a salmon focused dish, sam loved it he said it was like a taste of the sea. The combination of capers, hollandaise sauce, fish roe and salmon cant go wrong. Very refreshing and flavoursome
Veg out - mushrooms, tomato, spinach, avo, poached eggs, sourdough, haloumi and a side of butter. Seriously guys after all this eating, i was ready for some clean eating and detox.. hence the green juice and veg out. This was a perfect brunch the haloumi was a stand out,i have no idea how they cooked it (maybe deep fried then pan fried?) But it was good. I think ive had so much junk in the past few months that my stomach really needed more veg.
Overall we quite liked this litte cafe in the quite streets of birchgrove, it wasnt amazing but it was good, a nice place to chill on the weekend for locals. There seems to be a lot of regulars, we saw a lot of people parked outside the cafe to pop in to get some coffee/takeaway.
We were kindly invited.
I've come here a few times now and Charlotte's cafe has to be one of my favourite brunch / lunch spots in the area! Highly recommend 🤗🙌🏾
Friendly staff, yummy foods and reasonably priced . So much toys available for kids 🥰 highly recommended
Came across this cafe on Google and was not disappointed. Portions are huge, friendly staff, great ambience and reasonable prices!
Would definitely return!
Food/drinks: food was great, tasty and beautifully presented. All came out in a timely fashion, even though we were a big group.
Coffee was decent, nothing to rave about though. The apple juice was nice and fresh.
Venue: lovely, with an open kitchen. The hanging pots add to the decor. Not a lot of a space, would recommend booking a table.
Toilet could do with a clean up, as well as changing the male toilet seat.
Overall, not a bad place, would go back.
Our local that we neglect a little because it’s so close to home, but breakfast this week was fab!
Great place for breakfast and lunch.
We’ve been here a couple of times and the quality has been consistently good.
The price is reasonable and the portion are good. I absolutely love the Corn fritters.
Staff is friendly; the outside sitting area is very cute.
Highly recommended.
