This one gets a 5! This is a bar with charm and the perfect date spot - especially in winter. Also good for a night out with friends but keep it to a small group. The bar has an old world feel and is a gem on darling street balmain. Be warned there is not much room inside so make a booking or get there early on Friday and Saturday nights. The wine list here is immense! Most certainly describe to the staff what you are after and let them recommend one from around the world. Food can be a little expensive and it's small portions designed to share but this place is worth it. You can also grab a cocktail and make sure you leave room for a cheese platter at the end of the night. If you want your money's worth do the Sunday long lunch at $35 for 8 courses it's a treat. Highly recommend this one as an after dinner spot for cheese and wine.

Those Who Love To Eat

I truly enjoy this place! The service is impeccable and the wine list is extensive. Love the cozy interior and the big arm chairs by the fire place, or sit outside and enjoy a nice balmy evening (should weather permit). This place is a must try if you're a foodie or a beverage conniesieur.
The food list is just the right amount and not too glary with choices to do your head in.

DELICIOUS!!!. This place is AMAZING!! Stopped in for a Sunday lunch and to our surprise they had an amazing long lunch deal - 6 courses for $35!! Stand outs were the with slow cooked lamb shoulder parcels with fig jam (to die for!), bresaola with celeriac salad, roasted root veg AND the rib eye (which was cooked to perfection!). Highly suggest this place for anyone who wants great food and great service at an affordable price :)

We stop by here for a nightcap on the way home from dinner. Chocolate brownie and a glass of red! Staff are lovely and attentive!

A Must. Dropped into this location by sheer chance and was greeted by a very nice barman who was happy to chat and make this location feel friendly. Didn't have any of the food nor wine that this has been recommended for but did chance a couple of cocktails. I can say that these were professionally made and very reasonable in price. I will be back and recommend if you get a chance you come see this gem for yourself.
