Highly underrated! Our experience has always been a 5/5. Cakes are delicious, croissants, macaroon's. Cannot fault the dessets here. A must visit at least once per week!
Warmed up with a ham and cheese toastie with a hot chocolate here. Good value and liked they were following safety measures
Nice cakes and bread, coffee is definitely one of the best in Balwyn!
I brought the kids for some Macaroons and they absolutely adored them! They couldn't get enough, dangerously good that now that are demanding them after dinner every night!!! Thanks Laurent, keep up the good work!
Love the roast lamb sandwich here! It's super fresh and tasty on fluffy turkish bread. Also great coffee every time
The place is 5spacious and there are a variety of different5 foods and pastries. Their cakes were so pre5tty and tasty, and service was very quick.
Balwyn seems like a desert for breakfast early on a Saturday morning. I came looking for good coffee and and a toasted sandwich. Instead I had a bacon and egg ciabatta. It didn’t disappoint. And the coffee was great too.

Laurent is well known around Melbourne for its high quality food, cakes and cafes. It had been a long time between visits and it won’t be in the future. On a Sunday morning, this place was almost full with people having brunch, a coffee, lunch, reading newspapers, grabbing some takeaway or like me, picking up some macaroons as a gift. I would’ve liked to have taken more photos but it’s not always cool to snap pictures of the food on display. And doubt I could do what’s on offer justice anyway.
The cakes and sweet treats are amazing and although not cheap, they are excellent. There is also a large range of croissants, rolls, foccacias and more. Coffee is pretty good.
Staff are extremely helpful even when rushed off their feet as they were on Sunday morning.
Laurent in Balwyn is kid friendly (including high chairs). It’s also wheelchair accessible. Parking out the front isn’t too bad – depending on the time of day. There are morning restrictions for city bound traffic.
I can always rely on Laurent to serve up some delicious coffee and pastries. There is good reason why there are so many franchises across the suburbs. This location is a large space with a beautifully decorated French vibe. I love the light fittings and the marble tabletops and bistro chairs. It's very comfortable and welcoming.
We received our coffees and danish within minutes of ordering it, so I was satisfied with the service. Coffee was really good and rich, while the danish had fabulous, flaky pastry and a creamy custard filling. The glazed berries were also delicious. Laurent is a fab cafe to visit for a cuppa and sweet treat when in the area.
This is a great french patisserie that has multiple sweets, pastries, tarts, baked goods and sandwiches to suit everyone. One of my favourite pastries is the fragepani tart that has almond and raspberry flavours. Sandwhich wise their tuna and chicken sourdough rolls are a must have. When Easter comes around their hot cross buns are a must try. I also highly recommend getting their olive bread loaf or roll. It is one of the best olive breads I have had, as it has a true authentic taste of olive throughout the bread.
Nice quality coffee , cakes are excellent and fancy but not cheap , staff very caring and helpful .
I have been to many Laurent locations and it is always a 5-star experience. The Rubis cake is a moment in heaven! Ingredients of the highest quality and many options for savoury and sweet treats. My favourite bakery in Melbourne.
