Ladygreen

I started writing this venue for my directory and I stopped immediately. This is one place I knew I had to check out myself and we’re glad we did. Kris and Kim have created a perfect location for family dining and it’s a venue that is one of our new favourite places to visit. They tick all the boxes for us and we know it’s a place you too will love.

We headed in for dinner at 5pm and were immediately welcomed. Both kids were acknowledged and welcomed too. My son was provided a special cup with straw (and ice) and it made his day! The one thing we noticed immediately, was the open view kitchen with bar seating across the front of it. What a view! The decor of the venue looks fantastic and is really inviting.

While I’m not vegan, I’m a lover of places that have a variety of vegan food on the menu. It makes my life easier when dealing with dairy intolerance and knowing that the end product will taste fantastic! I used to be vegetarian for 10 years, so I’ve had my fair share of vegan food too. The kitchen will happily accommodate dietary requirements and most dishes can also be made vegetarian or vegan. This made ordering Tapas to share between us really easy!

Their Fiesta Feast is a great way to sample the menu and we ordered most dishes from it. We ordered their taco of the day (lamb), guacamole and corn chips, empanadas (pumpkin and ricotta), fajita chicken skewers, nacho cheese rice balls and sour cream dusted chunky chips with salsa. From the main menu we ordered saucey wagyu meatballs with salted ricotta and southern fried chicken nibblers with spiked crema. We did alter a couple dishes to be dairy free for my daughter. They also have vegan cheese on offer too.

My husband and son took a wander to overlook the action in the kitchen. Kim warmly welcomed this and started showing Teddy how to make empanadas. He absolutely loved this! What an amazing and unique thing to offer, to encourage a positive relationship with food, by allowing kids to watch food being prepared.

Everything arrived promptly and beautifully presented. The food was delicious. I can’t recommend a particular dish, because everything we tried was fantastic. The kids enjoyed sampling a little bit of everything. I do love their kid’s menu which is perfect if you decide to order large plates for yourself, instead of tapas to share. We just love that they have roast chicken with chips or salad! What a welcomed change to a kid’s menu.

We really enjoyed all the food and the service was attentive and friendly. Staff made an effort to encourage us to order more food before a large table’s order was taken. They’re very much in tune with the needs of young children and loved engaging with them.

We kept ordering as we went along, so we didn’t have an opportunity to have dessert! We will definitely return to try more of the food and even some cocktails!

Even before visiting this café the beautiful outdoor dining area caught my eye while passing by. From the plants to the various seating arrangements and beautifully lit fire heaters, it's the ideal spot to cosy up under the blankets on hand. They also offer the perfect Dog Snack menu for the pooch in your life!

For Brunch I ordered the Baja Benedict, which is Free-Range (huge plus!) Eggs on a House-Made Hash Brown w/Jerk Pulled Pork, Hollandaise and Charred Pineapple & Jalepeno Salsa. The hash brown was beautifully crunchy on the outside and soft and moist inside. The pork was flavoursome, cooked perfectly, and was complimented very well by the salsa. The salsa was a fantastically innovative twist on a traditional Eggs Benedict, which added a sweetness that was balanced well by the hollandaise.
I also tried the Lady Okonomiyaki Crispy Vegetable Pancake w/Wasabi Emulsion, Sticky Guava Sauce, Slaw, Furikake, & a Poached Fried Free Range Egg. This was a colourful tasty dish, with fresh crunchy vegetables. I particularly enjoyed the addition of pickled ginger.

To finish off I had the Spelt Granola Cup w/Vanilla Coconut Yogurt, Seasonal Fruit, and House Made Granola with Yuzu & Blueberries. The granola was crunchy and toasted, the fruit was fresh and the texture of the yogurt worked beautifully with the whole dish. I loved the presentation of this dish too.

Lady Green is run by the welcoming, friendly and passionate Kris and Kim who are happy to talk through the menu and make recommendations. Their Californian Mexican restaurant features a beautiful display of pastries and takeaway snacks, a full bar, and offers dinner options on weekends. I was particularly drawn to the display of inspiring cookbooks on offer, which I perused during my meal.

I really enjoyed speaking to Kris and Kim about their exciting new venture and wish them all the best with their amazing business. Such a fabulous addition to the Beachside Brighton Area.

Excellent food, great service and lovely atmosphere. This restaurant deserves to be a wow! Great Cal/Mex formula and the margaritas are superb. Will definitely recommend to friends and looking forward to our next night at Ladygreen.

This is not my first time going to Ladygreen, usually I pop in for one of their amazing coffees and home made slices. I needed something more sunbstantial for breakfast and the Toastie did not disappoint! It was sooo good, as were the soy lattes. I love the decor and music here too and friendly staff.

What a beautiful morning spent here. Food was sensational and service was fabulous. We all had our kids in tow and the staff were sure to trot out the colouring-in nice and early so us Mum’s could get busy catching up after not having seen each other for a long time! The food was fresh and beautifully presented catering for everyone in a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.

Lady Green is a local restaurant with California-Mexican influence. Nice spot. started with brunch after bike ride, then progressed to dinner last week. Try the nachos with the pulled pork. Also the soft tacos are tasty, and really enjoyed the vegitarian mexican lasagna

The food was amazing and beautiful. Staff are very friendly. I will definitely come back again very soon.
