In a little back street called Fish Lane, hides a gem of a cafe called Hello Please. Specialising in Vietnamese street food, dishes like spring rolls, dumplings, chicken ribs, banh mi, salads, curry, rice paper rolls, pho and bun grace the menu, all ingredients fresh and nourishing, and making for a difficult choice because every dish sounded tempting.
Greetings Joe's, this may come as a surprise as to why I have gathered you all here today. You see, I have been feeling under the weather lately due to the lack of Joe's in my life. To remediate this problem, I would like to suggest that we form a "Gathering of the Joe's" as a bi-weekly club where all Joe's, and I of course, shall meet and partake in various foodie activities.
The first meeting shall be on 29th October from 8PM-10PM at "Hello Please". I expect to see you all there. Ta ta for now.
Went here with the partner and a friend for a weekend lunch.
We ordered the tuna tartare, shiitake mushrooms and the Dan Dan rice cakes, with a side of steamed rice. The tuna was fresh. Mushrooms were moreish. The rice cakes were the highlight with a good amount of heat and interesting texture of the rice cakes.
Dishes are designed to be shared. I would describe the flavours are more "Asian-fusion" rather than "Vietnamese". Casual ambience with limited outdoor seating. Friendly and efficient service. Prices little on the higher end for portions served.
Overall, a casual spot to share a light Asian fusion meal with friends.
I have dined here twice now and after reading a few reviews on here, I would highly recommend ordering the banquet. Each time we have ordered the shared dining the portions have been very generous. For those interested in a lighter meal, the two standout dishes for me were the plum duck salad & crispy chicken ribs. Awesome atmosphere,, tasty food and great music all tucked away on fish lane. Check it out for after work dinners and drinks with friends or date night!
Hello Place is a nice little venue in fish lane. Saw photos of the food on Instagram and decided I had to assess this goodness
We got the Pork Bao buns, chicken salad and crispy chicken ribs. Food was amazing with all the flavour hitting your mouth at first bite.
I recommend everyone give this place a go.
We ordered the $35 banquet and it was amazing. The waitress kept my water glass full the whole time I was there (she’s amazing). Loved the vibe and the music! Will definitely be coming back!
Perfect night out on a cold winters night! We went for the $35 banquet style dinner and have no regrets. Flavours were incredible, they chefs held the coriander (thanks!!) and the heaters were enough to keep us warm and happy :) service was also great with a super friendly waitress who kept the glasses full and smiled the whole way through. We will be back soon! :)
I've dined here twice now; i have to say if you have walked past it and/or thought about going please do. The flavours are amazing and are spot on! I've had the banquet and tried most of the dishes but the thing that stands out are the chicken ribs. It has a cool environment and a really ubeat vibe, very suitable for a quiet dinner or for a meetup with friends or family!
Five of us dined here for dinner on a Saturday night. It is a really cool set up with the train going past and wooden bench tables to sit on. We did not enjoy the 90s pop playlist though. Since it was a group booking, we needed to have the banquet menu. The curry came out first which was done in error so we were compensated with some chicken bao which was yummy. I really enjoyed the food here. In particular, the Vietnamese salad and the beans that were served with the pork belly.
We had the Corn fritters and the Boa Chicken... and OMG the dishes were goooood!!!! The staffs were pleasant and provided a good service. We had to wait for approx 15mins for our food but it was worthwhile! I recommend this place guys:)
PS: the chicken in the Bao was the star of our visit:)
Incredibly tasty food that I highly recommend. We had the sandcrab on betle leaf, lobster dumplings, reef fish, red dragon tofu and greens.
Everything had incredible flavour and cooked to perfection.
Staff are friendly and welcoming.
The restaurant has a ramp making it accessible for all.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable dinner!
Situated at the famous fish lane. Nice place for dinner on Weekdays. Great food, good atmosphere. Fast and friendly service. Clean and well maintained. Highly recommended!!! :)
We got the baller banquet which was a lot of food for only $60 so great value. It was yummy but nothing outstanding and doesn’t get me rushing back. The Thai red curry was the highlight.
The scallops had exciting flavours. Staff were very lovely and our drinks were never empty. Great wine selection too. Looking forward to coming back.
