My first visit to Convent Garden won't be my last. Good food and great service in a beautiful location. Quiet background music provides ambience but does not prevent quiet conversation.
A delightful dining experience! The venue is absolutely stunning, waiters were charming, food is exquisite, we highly recommend the pineapple salad! A perfect paradise on a hot summers day.

Located on Boundary Road in West End’s bustling restaurant/cafe/bar precinct, Covent Garden caught my attention last month when I dined at Jacaranda Lane. I crossed the road to check out this newly renovated bar and I was impressed. Fast forward several weeks and we are walking into Covent Garden for lunch.
We are warmly greeted by Owner Cuba who helps us with the food and drinks Menu. With an impressive selection of 190+ varieties of Gin, this Gin House specialises in Gin and Gin Cocktails. Our Gin and Tonic, Covent Garden Cobbler and Singapore Sling arrives within minutes. They look beautiful and are refreshing! Kudos to our imaginative and talented Bartender. With our drinks we walk towards the back which opens up to a leafy courtyard garden (dining) area, with a stand alone bar. And lunch is served!
*Steak Sandwich ($18) is served with Steak slices, Swiss cheese, salad and fried onions. The French Fries are fantastic!
*Ploughman’s Board comes with fresh charcuterie, remoulade, hard cheese and breads.
*Mezze Board has a delicious baba ghanoush, feta, variety of pickled vegetables and flat bread.
Our meals are nicely presented with generous servings and are rated 4-4.5/5.0 We finish our meal with a Forage Club Cocktail, Affogato, Cafe Latte and Petit Fours. This skilled Barista pours excellent coffees! Thank you to our gracious host Cuba and his wonderful team for a very enjoyable afternoon.

On our way to the local bookshop, hubby and I stopped in here for a quick coffee and a bite to eat. This is therefore a short review as we only had one dish each. He had a long black and I had a cappuccino; both were fine. Hubby had the zucchini fritters, which came with green chilli sauce and lemon myrtle ($12). These were very crispy and very golden brown and absolutely fantastically moreish. I restrained myself to just one bite, and left the other 4 and a half for hubby, generous soul that I am. He said they were the best he had ever eaten! The waiter said they had zucchini and carrot in them. Oh my, folks; get yourself down there to try these.
I decided on gin-cured salmon ($19), with cream cheese, cucumber, beetroot and rye bread. This was a generous serve, and very tasty. I had had the same dish a week before at another place, but this was sooo much better for the same price. The cream cheese came in a cute quenelle on the side; the cukes were pickled, and the beetroot was a lovely slick of purée. There were 4 pieces of bread, and a good serving of salmon. The baby capers and slices of radish strewn around the plate added to the taste and fun.
This is a trendy place, with plenty of room out the back, and a function room upstairs. The staff were fine with us, but I felt a slight tremor of hovering on the hipster side. We sat at the front window, checking out the locals – a mix of hippies and those richer types who can afford the expensive housing in this suburb. Do yourself a favour, and head here for a drink – maybe one of the 100 gins they have in stock? – and a really delicious bit of fried (or otherwise) heaven.

Been here a couple of times now, the salmon poke bowl on the weekday lunch menu is to die for.
So healthy: gin cured salmon, wild rice, avocado and citrus vinaigrette- Yum ! And at $20 with a drink, great value.
Also noticed a High Tea tower going out to another group, looked divine.
The courtyard is lush and the Gin selection is insane.
Slowly working my way through the 180+ list.

This old man doesn't get out much. Caught up with an old friend at this venue. A comfortable atmosphere coupled with that dry Monkey 47 really did it for us both. Cheers..
My absolute favourite venue in West End. Staff are more like friends than waiters and the selection on the back bar keeps me on my toes! Love the food as well.
I went here the other day for a friends birthday. We were a group of 20 and sat out the back. Great venue as there is a second garden bar and the food comes out quite quickly and good options. love the deck up stairs!
A friend recently mentioned that this venue is her go-to when organising a last-minute luncheon or dinner. So naturally, when my fussy and unpredictable boss gave me 10 minutes to make a lunch reservation for 23 people, this venue came to mind.
The stress of organising food and drinks to share was taken off my hands completely. Staff provided exceptional service. The food and drinks were unique and divine. The back outdoor area is an experience in itself. Thank you so much - you're now my go-to as well!
Great gin selection! Awesome service. The venue is super cool, great place for a day drinking session with friends! Look forward to trying out their shared menu soon.
