My mum’s full of catch phrases - ‘patience is a virtue’; ‘clean your plate’; ‘good things come in small packages’ & I had the pleasure of them all over a celebratory high tea here with the matriarch herself. Sage advice aside, this was a truly delightful & charming high tea from a lovely local business at a great price.
Served in 2 courses we started with savoury quiches which were very good. Then sweets: scones with jam & fresh cream (‘don’t lick your knife’) + chef’s selection of petit fours - today it was vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing, melting moments & caramel slice. These were also very good. Pots of tea washed it all down nicely. Did I mention this was all just $25 for 2 people?? And we were absolutely ‘full to pussy’s bow’ (which is around your neck I’m told).
Our enthusiastic servers Josie & Gladys genuinely wanted to ensure our experience was special: following up, taking pics - we appreciated it all.
Cakes, slices & take home gourmet treats inside are worth a visit alone. Our cupcakes were really light with a delicious crumb & decadent soft icing. So often cupcakes are style over substance, let down by the actual cake...but not Judy’s. Nuh uh.
Okay so no champagne or ribbon sandwiches but I’ll trade pomp & ceremony for charm & quality any day. We enjoyed the true community feel of locals popping in for a coffee or to grab a cupcake for the kids after sport.
Thanks from mum & I!
Dined here for high tea today with my girlfriends and it was so lovely!! I had a Living Social voucher and the value of food we were given was amazing. The waitress, who said it was her first day on the job, was so friendly and welcoming. We sat down and orders were taken for teas and coffee (the chai latte is yum). Not long after, 4 quiches arrived and they were delicious! After we finished the quiches, our plates were cleared and new ones were given. This was a very thoughtful gesture. The sweets came on a platter, with the scones being lovely and soft. I loved the jam and also the pineapple cakes! Everything was spot on, and I will be back to have some more cake for sure!
We bought a cudo voucher for a high tea. I wasn't sure what to expect.
Was pleasantly surprised to find parking right out the front.
Walked up to a delightful shop. Very pretty and some delicious looking fare.
The service was great. We ordered our drinks and were served 2 different types of quiche. Try were lovely.
Then we were bought out the scones and an assortment of sweet treats. I loved them all.
It is a great place i would definitely recommend.
