A great cosy bar that looks a little questionable from the outside but so much personality on the inside. Still the best espresso martini I’ve ever had!
Cosy little bar. Great for a relaxed night at the end of a week. Bartender makes a killer old fashioned & the music they play is top notch. They take your card and run a tab for the night, makes it super easy.
Size: Compact. There is a second room next door that can be hired for small parties etc but almost certainly you will be sharing your table with others.
Decor: Very much a City Council Kerbside Collection feel ie: Junk. Lounges, coffee tables, beaded curtains to break up the space, every piece of coloured glassware your grandmother ever donated to charity. Dim lighting (hence the lack pf photos), intimate spaces. Music: Eclectic 60’s vinyl on an original turn table. Think Italian pop and Latino brass.
Really cool venue hidden away in Ashgrove, easy to walk right by. Dark and brooding, the place always has some great vinyl spinning. Cocktails are hit and miss, but a very cool place to hang out

I had my 21st Birthday Party here and it was a hit with all my guests. Shout out to Oscar who was an amazing cocktail expert and I would recommend their function room and catering. The staff are always chipper and the drinks and atmosphere are unlike any other bar in Brisbane.
After my birthday plans were foiled i scurried about to find a new venue last minute to luckily find the junk bar could accommodate! And how lucky I was, the food, the music the cocktails and decor! I can't speak higher of this venue and of our host Mia! I'll recommend this place to anyone and everyone and will certainly be back!

It's one of those places that you'd never discover just on your own unless you are lucky because it certainly doesn't shout 'Come here for a good time' on the outside. But between the formal dress shop and the Chinese takeaway, step behind the yellow curtain and discover a whole different world waiting at Junk Bar on Waterworks Road and Ashgrove Avenue at Ashgrove.

Amazing 21st birthday party. I organised my siters 21st birthday party and from first contact to completion of the party everything went smoothly. Mia was very easy to deal with both via email and in person (in fact she was more wonderful in person) and nothing seemed to difficult for her. She certainly made everything feel like it was going to go smoothly and her infectious smile gave all the guests a sense of welcoming ease.
The private room was just the perfect size for our group of 35 and had a wonderfully intimate, yet funky vibe to it. The drinks came out in a timely manner and the cocktails were amazing (loved the expresso martini in a goblet) and there was plenty of variety. The food that The Junk Bar organised was from outside sources that supply them and everything was fresh and tasty and reasonablly priced.
I would highly recommend The Junk Bar if you just wanted to catch up with a friend for a drink or for a birthday party. Thanks to Mia and The Team at The Junk Bar you made the experience for our sister one she will always remember!
The junk bar was awesome! Their staff really knew their boutique beers and were attentive without being freaks. Great live music too! Great venue!
Great venue. Loved the atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks. Fast, friendly service. Free comedy - open mic night Mondays.
Great place to see a band and the best garden looks really nice. Great atmosphere. Having a bar in the mezzanine was very handy, too.

My favourite venue in Brisbane. I've seen countless shows here as well as played here 4 times and it's absolutely incredible. The staff are amazing and the venue is immaculate.

Love coming here for the trivia on Tuesday nights. Good food, good local drinks, good service. Have also had the pleasure of seeing a few shows here and the sound is always very high quality
Good venue ..handy for the city and Valley.. found the staff to be friendly and good fast service.. drink prices reasonable...food looked great..
Added bonus was Pete Cullen and the Hurt playing great music..the venue has comfortable seating and good vibes.
Highly recommended!! A must try!!
