Pizza is excellent 10/10. Sat outside in the lane way, service was great. Food was fast to table from order and the flavors were excellent. Base crisp, toppings fresh, cold beer. Dessert pizza topped off the night. Give this place a try, you will not regret.
Busy restaurant, with friendly staff and really awesome pizzas with fresh toppings. The place fills up fast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, so I recommend coming during the week when it's less busy. Otherwise, make sure to book a table.
We had the carbonara and the duck pizzas and both were aaaaamazing! Hubby also tried the lasagna which he said was good but not quite heated through, but when we brought that to staffs attention they apologised, fixed it up and gave us some free drinks so we were really happy with that. No complaints, will definitely be back!

I had girls night here a couple of nights ago and had the best time. Wine and dips followed by 4 types of pizza, red duck pizza, the big chicken pizza, morrocan beef and the zucca pizza. I still can’t decide which one was my favourite, I loved them all. And to top it off specialty made gelato. YUM. They have a very relaxed vibe and the Italian hostess/waitress was so helpful.
Will definitely be coming back again soon. Plus I can bring my vegan friends too.
Best authentic Italian in Brisbane. Woodfired pizzas melt in your mouth. They source the freshest mozzarella you can get in Australia. Their advice on where to eat in Rome is spot on. Thanks for the yummy food and travel tips.

Il Forno Pizzeria in Sandgate serves up the best pizza north of the Brisbane River!
Under new management, chef/owner Bryan Lennox and his wife Savonne have breathed new life into this lovely pizzeria. They've revamped the menu and lowered prices, while retaining (and possibly improving on) the wonderful quality and taste that has been the hallmark of Il Forno for years.
We began our evening with the Pecorino Pizza Bread, which was so simple, yet so delicious. They begin with the chef's own dough recipe (all their dough is made with imported Italian flour) and roll out a pizza base with high sides. Next, they add several large ice cubes to the dough and bake it in a wood fired oven. The ice melts, leaving a well of water, to which the chef adds generous handfuls of pecorino cheese and seasons with salt and pepper. The water, cheese, salt and pepper combine to deliver a sharp, rich flavor. The end result is absolutely fantastic and rates 4.5 out of 5.
Next came the Spinachi e' Ricotta (Spinach & Ricotta) Pizza, a beautiful blend of tomato, spinach, parmesan, mozzarella, ricotta, roasted garlic, fresh cherry tomatoes and olive oil atop a thin and delicious dough. The pizza was heavy with toppings and there was so much cheese that I was in seventh heaven! The flavors and textures were perfect and I quickly declared this the best pizza I've eaten in many, many months. I could find no fault with this pizza (except perhaps that it was gone too soon), which rates 5 out of 5.
We rounded out our main meal with a Caprese Salad (3.5/5) and a Margherita Pizza (4/5). Both dishes utilized tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella and fresh basil, and were quite enjoyable.
Lastly, we enjoyed the chef's recommendation of Panna Cotta and were talked into an Warm Apple Crumble with Vanilla Gelato. The Panna Cotta was perfect...so smooth and rich...quite literally the best I've ever had and rated 5 out of 5. I'm generally not a fan of dessert pizzas, but the Apple Crumble was heavenly and rated 4.5 out of 5. I wouldn't hesitate to order both dishes again.
We were also quite impressed by the impressive beer selection, including more Italian imports than I've ever come across in Queensland. I enjoyed a Birra Moretti and a Birra Di Sardegna (where else do you find Sardinian Beer?) and noted that they stock five different varieties of Peroni. If you are a lover of Italian beer, this is where you need to be.
Not only have Bryan and Savonne lowered prices, they have also introduced a happy hour from 5-6 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Best pizza around! Traditional wood-fired Italian pizzas, topped with fresh and tasty combinations of ingredients. We are regular customers here, and have never had a bad pizza! Staff are helpful and accommodating with dietary requirements.

The pizza is one of the best damn pizzas I've ever had. However, whoa the price! ... 24 dollars for a little pizza and because the base is so thin and light you really do feel robbed. Amazing if you've got the money.
Awesome delicious Italian pizzeria! Pizza made in wood fired oven! We ordered Lanatra (crispy duck) and Carbonara. Pizzas is super hot, juicy and yummy. They also have very good selected wine and we picked rose which is perfect match with pizza. One of the best pizza in Brisbane!!
Very good pizza, not salty! Many pizzas in some other restaurants are salty because they put too much sauce. The pizzas here the flavor is just right. We ordered Moroccan Beef and Grande Pollo pizzas. They are delicious!
