Went to check out this gem today. We got the avocado on sourdough and the triple double brekky
burger. I switched the brioche bun out for a bagel and was very happy with my decision.
Very filling and satisfying burger to kick off my Sunday morning. The avo was also amazing and loved the macadamia crumble on top!
We got iced long blacks for coffee. Very nice coffee, not too bitter at all.
The staff were very friendly. Very quiet and tucked away cafe. Definitely recommend checking this out.
After the light brekkie at the Scatter Bean, this espresso café suddenly came up in my mind and just located nearby so drove to re-visit. When I arrived, there were already lots of local customers either sitting inside or at the al fresco area. Ordered a cup of espresso (seems to have more espresso than before after the Italy trip) and took a seat outside. The espresso came with a very nice red small cup. Coffee is strong but seems not as smooth as those that I had last week in Italy… however, I do love it too!

Hiding in a little hut at a quiet street of Toowong, this café serves very good coffee and nice brekkie. Had the Sunday brekkie there last week and order my favourite flat white and a toasties with chorizo, salami and cheese. Coffee was great with nice attractive red coffee cup and the toasties was full of meats and cheese. Needless to say, I hardly managed to finish it. Well, it was a nice start of the day!

I guess this place relies predominantly on business from the surrounding neighbourhood and customers who prefer a quiet laid back cafe. Unless you were lost in the back streets of Toowong you wouldn't realise there was a little strip of shops hiding in Bent Street.
We arrived just after midday, so we just missed the breakfast menu. The lunch menu comprised of 3 items, but there are wraps, sandwiches and toasties in the cabinet.
Favourite daughter ordered the Avo on Sourdough off the lunch menu with a cappuccino, while I had a vegie wrap from the cabinet with a flat white. The tables are outside under the very wide awning of the strip of shops. Lots of water bowls are near the tables for your furmily baby to come and relax too. Inside the cafe is a great range of eclectic gift and homewares. I loved that this strip of shops has kept its original facade and I felt like I had stepped back to the 1960's.
What was a little off putting was the amount of flies that seemed attracted to the tables. Our food arrived before our coffees, which I didn't mind. My vegie wrap was served with a beautiful chutney and all was simple but very tasty and filling for $10. Favourite daughters' Avo on Sourdough was absolutely huge with 3 slices of bread, piled high avocado, heaps of crumbled fetta and a wonderfully generous serving of crushed macadamia nuts and was only $12. The coffees were not hot enough, but they were so smooth and strong, I can forgive and remind myself next time to ask for it hot.
Overall I really liked the place, I really wanna come back and do breakfast and try for a hotter coffee.
Hidden Gem! Great Avo on toast, the prices are good, the service is excellent, good options for vegos/GF/DF etc, lots of parking and it's never really that busy so you don't have to wait. Plus there is a cute little shop! Cannot recommend more!
We went for brunch -- A nice variety in menu (perhaps too many choices!) with specials that are greatly appreciated by the average (northern or southern) bargain hunter. Hot, cold, cooked, soaked, poached, toasted, fried, crushed, mashed, scrambled, natural.....all sorts of food served. Most of the usual breakfast classics along with a few current trends and specialties. Can easily accommodate for lactose free/no dairy, vegetarian, and have some gluten free options. A nice green area, with a lot of street parking. Outside covered seating, with a really cute artsy store inside. Popular for takeaway coffee.
Great service and location. Very satisfying lunch. I definitely recommend, it was a really nice and relaxed environment. Definitely would go again. Limited seating but appropriate for level of people traffic.

A small quirky humoured cafe with coffee on point. The owner had been given this jug by his parents and loved it so much he just had to share it with his customers. Small menu, but impressive given the size of the kitchen.
Nice spot, tucked away in the backstreets of Toowong. Friendly staff and good coffee :)
