One of the best cheeseburger's I've had in a long time, well worth the surprising $10 price, making it very competitive with other alternatives. Service was charming & pleasant but a little short-handed, especially with a busy restuarant. Decor was unique but not eye-popping, chips were to be expected with sauce, nothing too special there. My only gripe was with the dirty cups, but that was easily solved with a good wiping.
Bourbon St is serving breakfast & coffee now. Enjoyed a rather robust flat white with a double shot. Flavor was smooth with a creamy finish only problem I had was a large amount of foam. Tables inside & out, the interior has a well stocked bar with lots of USA paraphernalia on the walls
I’ve always wanted to come and try this place out and finally got a chance. Loved the decor, modern yet traditional. The service was incredible, very attentive but not intrusive. We tried the prawns, pork belly, calamari, lamb, chicken, fish and beignets. The standout dishes were the pork belly. Omg it was cooked to perfection, juicy with an incredible crackle. The pear and sweet & sour jus the perfect accompaniment and really lifted the dish. If you’re ever here you must order this dish! The buttermilk chicken was another favourite. So juicy and tender with a fantastic crispy coating and seasoned perfectly. That honey and buffalo sauce was so good, not too spicy or sweet. The cocktail I had, called The Nice Guy was delicious. One of my fave cocktails at the moment. Also very impressed with their bar. The alcohol selection was extensive, they even had Pisco. Will be coming back soon.
Great service, very good coffee and a fine spot for brunch. Liked the big breakfast, the egg benedict arrived in large chunks of toasted sliced baggette, a little unwieldy, but nice nonetheless. Good value
Nothing fishy!!!
I try to use correct punctuation in my reviews but I just couldn't control myself.
I visited with More Spice, her partner and some friends on Wednesday night and this place was fantastic.
Newly renovated, it was well lit - not too bright but bright enough to see the food - vibrant and well presented.
Starting with the Nice Guy cocktail? Highly recommended.
I tried both types of wings (dah) and loved the devil wings. A good smack of chilli, umami, acidity and sweetness left a light tingle on the lips. The chipotle style Bourbon St Signature wings were a little more restrained, tasty nonetheless, but one of our friends preferred them so each to their own.
We tried the jalapeño balls and they were light and fluffy, and quite mild and tangy at the same time.
The blackened fish was succulent, nicely rubbed and neatly piled high atop corn rice, with a mango salsa to add acidity and a sweet sauciness.
Go and meet at Bourbon St!
This was a very pleasant dinner experience, with very nice and prompt service and excellent cocktails.
The food itself looks like it has improved based on looking at some of the past photos here. Everything was very well seasoned, particularly the chicken wing entrees.
The main courses were all generous servings and pretty reasonable value. Would’ve enjoyed a few more wings for the entree though.
Definitely worth a look - creole cuisine isn’t too common in Brisbane!
Searching for a mid afternoon snack and drink and this funky little place delivered the goods!
It has a diverse and fresh cocktail range, with a perfectly paired menu. Whilst it doesn't obviously cater for everyone of your open minded about how you choose your food you can find something that caters for everyone's taste buds!
It has outdoor and indoor seating of your choice with quick friendly service and a chill atmosphere!
Service was slow but delightful and not a worry as we were 2 bfs catching up, but the food....the food was beautiful. We had American mac and cheese (perfect), baignets (fritters yumptious), calamari (incredibly tender in a fabulous and spicy crumb) wings (delicious), sweet potato fries and a side salad.
Would definitely recommend.
Booked a Saturday night dinner for two. We were promptly attended to and seated upon arrival.
Ordered the charcuterie plate to share, a French 45 for the wife, and an Old Fashioned for me to start the meal. I decided to have the Jambalaya for mains and the wife ordered the beef brisket.
Good selection of cured meat for the starters. Not really sure on the types (not listed on the menu, the server did not elaborate on the platter) but no complaints. Accompanied by sliced cheese (I think it was Manchego), a green salad with a light balsamic dressing, a capsicum salad with cheese, and crusty bread. A good choice to start the meal.
The cocktails packed a punch! You can be sure there was enough spirit in them for the price. Good value.
The mains were generous servings, too much for me and same with the wife. The Jambalaya, in my opinion, lacked the Creole flavour. Might be to adjust for the local palate. It was not bad, but I was expecting more flavour. I think the rice was cooked perfectly as well! Some people might think it undercooked but it is similar to paella, it still had some bite to it and not soggy.
The beef brisket was tender and tasted yummy! I got a taste of it just to find out what I might be missing.
I was surprised by the limited list of American beers on the menu. It would be good to expand the selection.
The service staff was attentive and gave suggestions on the meal sizes/portions. Quick to respond for orders and topping up the glasses of water.
All in all, a good first impression. Will definitely be back to taste the gumbo, the Creole prawns, and the buttermilk chicken.
We really like this place. We don't usually eat American but we were really surprised by how good the food is and the service was good too. We have been back since the first time and all the things we have ordered are good! It's good value as well.
