It’s a beautiful cafe on St Lucia campus of UQ. I’ve been to this cafe several times and recently visited the cafe for coffee with a friend. I love the ambience . You can watch others playing tennis. Food is also good and they have ( based on the menu from last year) nice vegetarian options. Service is good too. Coffee was ok though.
The eggs Benedict was great. Was a bit pricy but was definitely good. The atmosphere is really nice and the service was really quick. Made coming to uni at 8am worth it
Great pizzas, and interesting toppings! I particularly liked the addition of truffle in the calzone pizza! Unfortunately for me, this place is let down by the downbeat staff and the setting in which the tables and chairs lean downhill towards the tennis courts making it awkward to sit and eat. The pizzas are the stuff of Italian dreams, staff are really friendly and attentive, and the cafe is just a great place to hang out, so chill
Nice little cafe by the tennis court at UQ. Eggs benny was delicious and the waffles were sweet and nice. Good place on campus to eat if you want to switch it up from good old food court.

Great place to get a few drinks and a light meal on the UQ campus. The food is a little pricey for what you get, but the chips w/ aioli are always a hit and I can't complain about the temperature of the beer (cold w/ chilled glasses). Was a popular place for professional staff and academics to gather at the end of the day/week. Only ate dinner there twice and wasn't overly impressed with the pizza and caprese - not very filling.
I came here with a couple of friends, and although we've been students at UQ for a while, it was our first time ever trying this quaint cafe. At first glance, the cafe looks like every other, but as you continue to walk through, the set up is striking, with a long, comfy lounge chair backed against beautiful palms and greenery.
The staff were patient with us and very helpful, suggesting menu items we might like. Although pricing was on the heavier side, we settled for two magherita pizzas, two buckets of shoestring fries, and a mother jug of pimms...BEST COMBO EVER!
The cheese on the pizza was qualiTy - yes, with a capital T - and was actually stringy, like the ones you seem to only ever see on ads. The ingredients tasted fresh and the shoestring fries were a perfect accompaniment. Washed down with more than a few glasses of pimms (I'm telling you, the jug is huge, so bring friends!), it made for an awesome, relaxed afternoon.
Lovely ambiance and a great spot for lunch. Meals were nice and tasty, however service was terrible.
Fruit Toast like you can't believe. I work at UQ so dine at St Lucy's on a fairly regular basis for lunch and always enjoy it. However I had never ventured here for breakfast. On a recent weekend I had to pop into work quickly, so convinced hubby to come with me and give breakfast a whirl and I am so pleased we did.
Firstly it is a lovely setting. The place would have been about 3/4 full with everyone from tennis players to young families - it's a great place for everyone. Then there was the food - I ordered the savoury mince on olive toast and hubby decided on the fruit toast with vanilla butter (an unusual choice for him). My savoury mince was delicious although it could have used another piece of toast on the plate, eating the mince straight up without any toast underneath wasn't quite the same. But hubby's fruit toast was the hit of the day - I have never had anything like it anywhere ever. It was fruity and nutty, thick and toasted to perfection and ohhhhh that vanilla butter - it was beyond description. Who knew a piece of humble fruit toast could be this heavenly!!!
So yes I am going back to breakfast and yes I will be consuming the fruit toast ... maybe more than one serve! Bravo St Lucy's - absolute win!
