Nothing else to say but...... Y U M. This is officially my favourite classic fish and chips joint, and I am very happy about it! The fish is perfectly battered and instantly melts in your mouth. Also love how you can opt for sweet potato fries! Can’t get enough 😍 will be back again and again and again
So, the menu in the photos on this website are old, fish prices have gone up by $3-5 depending on what you get, Barra was $12 which was a suuuuuper nice surprise to find when I picked up my order, would highly recommend picking up a menu flyer or taking your own photos, I may do so later on.
If I paid the price that was listed? Absolute banger of a fish and chips place, no doubt. At $18 for a Barra and Chips? Eh. It isn’t your deeply flowered, almost pancake batter fish batter so you don’t feel like a piece of trash after half of the piece, but the chip serving, although good, was definitely too light for its price, I know we’re somewhat far away from the seaside here, but fish isn’t that expensive when you account for all the business expenses, and if you’re gonna charge that much, throw another handful of chips in there, ever if it’s just for moral support.
I would visit again, but if I did It would be with a group of people to make it financially viable, and we’d all have to want fish and chips specifically, not just cheap food.
I love coming here for the fried fish and chips! The batter is always crisp, the meet is never greasy, and the chips are battered making them the best in Brisbane. Everything is made fresh and food comes out of the kitchen pretty quickly.
The tartare sauce isn’t the greatest, but that’s a small knock as everything else is spot on.
