I meant to go around the corner to buy a Banh mi for my my wife after the brekkie at the West End Coffee House; unfortunately, it has not started trading yet so I went across the road to this bakery. Have not been back over eight month and there was a young lady serving me with proficient attitude. Ordered the Banh mi with crispy pork without coriander but chilies.
I witnessed she took the just out of the oven roast pork to the display cabinet and chopped up one of those for my order.
Let me tell you that the baguette is crispy and so as the roast pork.
Definitely, it keeps the record of full mark reviewđź‘Ť

This is by far the best Bahn Mi in Brisbane. Having tried few different places. This place reminds me of Vietnam. Good Bahn mi and they offer chilli which is a good sign that it is authentic.
Best banh mi is whole of Brisbane I’ve had so far decently priced, plenty of variety, made fresh & the flavour is unmatchable.
The bread is clearly cooked in house daily, it is SO soft. The crispy pork seems to have its own seasoning I’ve never tasted one like it
Finally gave our local Banh Mi shop a go. It was good banh, but it wasn’t the best we’ve had either. We ordered the Crispy Pork ($9) and Grilled Pork ($7.50). Would have preferred the banh to be filled with more condiments, but can’t really complain.
I’ve had few and this is in my top five for Bahn Mi. Has everything that you expect that comes in a toasted fresh roll. Super tasty with the correct proportions of fillings. A nice lady running the show as well
Nice bahn mi. Fresh bread, crunchy pickled cucumbers, good quality meats and generous on the coriander. Good value for money (cash only...)!
The rolls here are really value for money. I had a pork roll and it was so delicious. The bread was crust on the exterior and I love it! I'd definitely come here to get my banh mi fix!
Like a lot of the older places in West End, the main strength of Kim Thanh is that it's good value. Fantastic for college students and for workers out in search of lunch.
I wouldn't say it's 'the best in Brisbane' (Having visited Inala a few times), but it is definitely good and certainly worth saving the hour+ drive to get to Inala if you're a local from around central Brisbane.
Thanks to how they're made, their offerings are always pretty filling; several months ago they started selling not only the typical pork Bahn mi but also grilled pork, meatball and a couple other types.
The traditional one is of course always reliable, and we personally grew to like the meatball one a lot as well as it's much more hearty; if you like your salad do stick to pork, as the tastiest part is the seasoned salad they add.
For under $7 per 'sandwich', it's definitely a good place to check out if you just want a bite. Be aware there's no seating and queues can be a bit large at peak hours, and as it's a small place it can get a bit disorganised.
We've been coming here for years (before bahn mi was trendy) to eat what is probably the best bahn mi in Brisbane - crusty baguette spread with pate and filled with lighty pickled carrot, cucumber, fresh coriander, fish sauce, meat and chilli if you wish. Â It's fresh, full of flavour and very good value for money.
Had a very nice tofu banh mi and authentic Vietnamese iced coffee ($11 only). Light yet consistent lunch, warm and delicious. I loved the fact that you can add fresh veggies for free. Very cheap for the quality.
My friend order duck banh mi and was delighted too.
Will come back!
Best Banh Mi around town. Made like the streets of Vietnam.
Crispy pork is the winner for me.
