Best Ever Ramen I have in Brisbane! I order Tonkotsu ramen which cost $16.80. I like the soup base so much, it taste so rich and the pork slice is so yummy. I personally like Onsen Tomago (Ramen egg), I recommend to add extra egg, is really yum! How ever the portion is quite small compare to other Japanese ramen restaurant. Overall I will revisit again to try their other ramen!

Last time when I visited , I had a Vegan Classic Ramen. I came back today to have the Vegan Fire Ramen. I am addicted to Ramen now. The taste was awesome. One thing to keep in mind is, as the restaurant is too crowded on fridays, it is better to be available at 11:45am to avoid long queus. Happy Dining.

Came here for dinner just a minute after they had opened for their dinner service. The seats filled up quickly and food came out very fast!

I ordered the infamous tonkotsu ramen. The ramen broth had the right balance, flavourful and creamy accompanied with succulent meat and a perfect soft-boiled egg, this dish really took me back to Japan.

I've been here multiple times upon the recommendation of a friend and it grows on me everytime. High heat ramen is definitely my favourite and the kakuniku is so soft and tender. Prefect for the winter months.

Another bowl down, another name to check off my list. I genuinely enjoyed my experience at Taro’s Ramen (Queen Street). I had never been before so I didn’t really know what to expect.

Finding the restaurant was my first hurdle, I had no idea where to go until I saw the massive sign indicating the direction.

The inside of the restaurant was quite moody and cool, lots of little nooks were carved into the wall and the lighting was quite dark. I ended up sitting outside, but struggled to find a clean table.

I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and it was really good. I now understand the huge amount of hype around the Taro’s brand. The broth was really thick and tasty, it was so rich it arrived with a sort of ‘skin’ on top of the broth. The noodles were thick and plentiful. But the real stars of the show were the pork and the egg. The pork was so thick and as shown in the picture - massive.

It is my honest and genuine belief that Taro’s night do the best ramen egg in Brisbane. The inside was perfectly cooked, it wasn’t too runny, nor too hard. It was like a jelly texture - delicious !!!!

I will definitely be coming back to Taro’s ramen as the food is exceptional. On a financial note, the prices are a bit more expensive and the bowls are a bit smaller compared to other ramen shops around Brisbane. Despite this, I will happily return. Enjoy 😊

Takoyaki … deep-fried octopus may not sound like the best thing to some people, but they obviously never tried it. Soft and chewy, just bursting with flavor. So this… is my favorite from Taros. Yes, Fire is nice… but there is something about this original broth I just really enjoy. It’s thick, flavorful and welcoming… It’s just a nice treat. The noodles had a great bite to them, and the meat is delicious .

You get what you pay for! Taros is a little bit on the pricey side for Ramen but..... its pretty damn good! :D I got the Red Ramen, but next time i will get the Fire Ramen for that extra spice! I got the extra half egg to go along with it! Really nice texture to the noodles, and great flavour to the broth. Has to be one of the better Ramen places around.

Nice place to have a cool down meal like tsukemen if you just arrived in a heat of Brisbane like me!

Service - don’t expect much - it’s like Nandos, walk in, find a seat and order and pay at the counter, condiments available for you to self serve (it would be nice if they kinda let you know when you walk in or have signs to tell you this is “the way” - I was waiting for ages for someone to give me a menu only to observe another lady went up to order)

Food - self hand made noodles were excellent. The broth I had for my cold noodles was also made well, not too salty but tasty enough. Portion comes in 1 or 2 noodles so entirely up to how hungry you are. Mine came with half a hard boiled egg, two pieces of seaweed, two generous pieces of chashu (pork pieces).

Atmosphere - nice place for a lunch session with colleagues, spacious seating and everyone can order their own plus some side dishes to share.

A little on the pricey.

Best ramen ever! I am a ramen fanatic and there is nothing better than a hot bowl of ramen (especially if its from Taro's). I tried the tonkotsu ramen and it was delicious, it was a perfect work lunch. A bit on the expensive side but can't compromise on quality. The noodles were perfectly cooked too! Good work Taro's Ramen keep up the great work you are appreciated by all of Brisbane.

Ramen lovers must try, had their Black Garlic Ramen and Cold noodles and are both fantastic. Fantastic little gem in the alley of Toowong. You will need to purchase your order at the front first then find a spot inside, brings back memories of Japanese style dining in Japan.

Best ramen in town. If this is your first time come here, you should try spicy miso ramen soup. It’s only spicy a little bit to make it feel more flavor. Next time, you can try dry cold noodles. It comes out very special with cold dry noodles with sesame flavor. And then curry soup is your next choice. Awww so many good dishes here. The only one I don’t recommend is the fish soup. It’s a bit salty. If you wanna try, you should definitely ask to reduce the salt in the soup. Oh and I forgot, here you order by the machine at the entrance, and 1% surcharge for efpos. And last one, there is free for extra noodles. Enjoyyy🤩

Ambience It’s a small, slightly cramped place, but with a laid back, casual and relaxed ambience. We didn’t care much for the rather hard seating and the table was sticky but apart from that we were quite happy at our little two-seater bench. Décor is cute but utilitarian with faux brick walls, sturdy wooden furniture and low hanging mood lighting. it definitely has an authentic style and feel to it, and I can imagine there must be hundreds of little places just like this all over Japan. And the formula works, because it's clearly popular with the locals. It was a full house, despite it being midweek, with people even queuing up outside for tables. This gave it a lively and energetic vibe. Despite the crowd, the acoustics were fine and we were easily able to converse. Many diners seem to be students from the nearby UQ campus. Food We ordered the following: 2 veg spring rolls 1 chuka wakame (seaweed salad) 1 edamame beans 1 chicken karaage 2 veg croquettes 1 slightly spicy sesame ramen (veg) 1 water This is what the crowds really come to Genkotsu for, because the food is delicious. It’s fresh, and tasty and made with love, care and attention to detail. There’s not a lot to choose from, but I guess that’s the secret of their success: don’t offer too much, but what you do offer is of the highest quality. The edamame (beans) and bright green seaweed salad were the perfect way to start the meal. The spring rolls were enclosed in a crispy batter, with a vegetarian filling. The croquettes were soft, smooth and creamy. We saved the best for last: the chicken karaage, our fave Japanese dish, with about eight pieces of tender and succulent chicken in a crunchy batter and served with a mayonnaise sauce. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The cost was a moderate 43 pesos. Service Service is super fast, friendly and polite. It’s all fairly informal and low tech. You simply make your choice, then head over to the little counter at the front of the store next to the door, to place your order and pay. Within a few minutes, all the dishes will be brought to the table. But next time we come here, we’ll order and pay for the entrees, then repeat the process again for the main meals, as we prefer to have entrees first, rather than have all the dishes coming out at once. The lady who runs the place, and her assistant, are patient and helpful too, and even though they were busy, they still took the time to explain the dishes to us. This all helps to create that homely and welcoming atmosphere that this place is famous for. Toilets There are toilets in the middle of the little arcade, male on one side and female on the other side, two cubicles in each with a wash basin in the middle. It’s handy having these toilets to serve the few little eateries and other businesses in the arcade, but don’t expect the cleanest toilets in town, although the men’s did have soap in the dispenser and a hand dryer. Parking There’s parking available across the road in the vacant lot that is supposedly earmarked for a new retail and residential precinct but nothing seems to have happened and at the moment it functions as a car park. And there’s always plenty of parking in the Toowong Shopping Village, a short 10 minute walk away. Summary Super popular place that serves up delicious food in generous portions. Prices are modest, service is fast and friendly and the ambience is casual and relaxed. Couldn’t ask for more. Will definitely return. Only negative is that they don’t serve alcohol. I can’t quite understand why or is it the nanny state at work again? Memo As no bookings are taken, it’s advisable to get here early unless you’re prepared to queue up outside, something I wouldn't do. We arrived just before 6pm and were easily able to get a table for two, but half an hour later it was full.

One of the best ramen places in Brisbane. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. When it’s busy there’s a wait but it’s totally worth it. I usually get the spicy soup either with Karamen or Cha-Shu. Both are really delicious. I didn’t take a photo of the food because I was so hungry. I also order the Pork Gyoza and Takoyaki. It was delicious.

This place came very highly recommend so I had to check out out in my quest to find the best Ramen in Brisbane. The look and feel of the restaurant is very authentic, and the staff were very friendly. The menu was a little confusing, with the different broth "flavour" options, and the ordering is via a touch screen, so no option to ask staff questions when it's busy. Lots of "toppings" that come standard at other places are add ons, so that's something to be aware of. Overall Ramen broth was very flavourful, and noodles were nice texture.

The best spot in Brisbane to get ramen!! Seriously authentic and delicious ramen at this little place. It's busy during popular times so I'd get in early or expect a small wait. I ordered the miso base with black garlic with a side of bokchoi. The texture of the ramen was spot on and the soup flavour was rich and tasty. It's a little on the salty side but you can always opt to reduce it.
