We love this place and have been going regularly since we moved into the area almost a year ago. The food is always delicious and distinctive, with interesting flavours and real chilli (so hard to find in Brisbane Indian). The naan is always a standout. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. Great place for dine in or takeaways.
Went with a couple of mates who swore by this place. Well, they were spot on! Every dish was soooo good. Must try the mixed entree! The pakoras are spectacular! We ordered the holy trinity of butter chicken, beef vindaloo and lamb rogan josh and they were all superb! The service was fantastic and the owner was a terrific fella. If you’re ever in Brisbane you must go to this place! Top notch!

Ordered the Lamb dhansak, Goan chilli prawn and garlic naan.
Both curries had plenty flavour and the naan was perfect, just that right amount of crispiness to it and soft and fluffy in the middle.
In places like this where you get asked if you want mild, med or hot, we normally just go medium and it's fine. Reckon we may need to go hot next time, as both curries tasted a little on the mild side.
Decor is quite bizarre. Imagine you're in the middle of a medieval archery tournament with an Indian twist!
Recommended, will defo be back for more.

Simply awesome Indian! Ok the interior is strange but that only adds to the adventure to get you into the spirit for Brisbanes best Indian. I love it. Not only is the food great the staff have always been so super friendly. Naans are cooked in a proper wood fired tandoor. The best Indian. A must try!
Fire Oven Cooked Naans for the Win. We often get home delivery from Sultans and have always found them prompt and reliable with their deliveries. On occassion we dine in the restaurant which is BYO making it a very reasonably priced night. Tip: The mixed entree for 2 is huge, in fact to the point that on my last visit, I ended up taking my main home with me. The Alu Gobi has a really smooth gravy for dipping the woodfired naans in (we normally get the cheese & spinach naan to share). And to be honest in my opinion it is the woodfired naans that set this place ahead of the rest. My partner is also a big fan of their rogan josh and rates it higher than Sitar's.
Great food and service. This place always makes me a little sad. Every time we go there, its practically deserted, which is a shame, because its one of the best Indian joints in the city.
I tend to favour the Tikka Masala, which is always perfect, and there's leftovers for lunch at work the next day. The Rogan Josh is also good if you fancy a lamb dish, and there's plenty of naan bread and rice.
The staff are friendly, its not their fault that the perpetually empty restaurant can feel a little eerie. It bills itself as Brisbane's oldest Indian restaurant, though not this specific location, and its definitely one of the best.
They do seem to do a steady stream of takeaway business, maybe people don't see dining out as the enjoyable pastime i do :)
Hidden Gem. I am totally kicking myself for not trying this restaurant sooner as it is a great little restaurant. We had dined at the Sultans Kitchen in Paddington a few times recently as it was more appealing to look at from the outside, but after dining at the Clayfield restaurant recently we won’t bother going back to Paddington. The lamb Madras is the best Madras I have had in Brisbane and the Cheese and Garlic Naan runs rings around others we have sampled in other Brisbane Indian restaurants. The service is also very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant, so next time you are thinking of Indian for dinner give this little hidden gem a go!
Amazing! Ate here for 4 years almost every week!. The best naans, and amazing Curry. I have tried about 30 indian restaurant restaurants in Australia but I always go back to this one.
Order the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Massala, or the Lamb Korma and I guarantee you will love this place. Have it with the naan amini (spinach and cheese naan).
My other favourite naan is actually not on the menu anymore. Go there and ask for a naan patel. It's a sweet buttery cinammon naan that is the perfect dessert or side to a meal!
If I had to fault it I would say sometimes they overspice the curries, but if you let them know, they'll give you a new one. Also, sometimes the food quality is inconsistant, but 90% of the time it is perfect!

I have always ordered garlic naan bread & most of the time Chicken Tikka Masala and it has always been really good, each time I get it, gets better and better.
Nice vegetarian curries.. very few Indian restaurants in Brisbane can match this... bread Naan can be improved to get 5 stars .
Good Indian food with fresh naan breads. Worth a try. I recall the kitchen moved recently to the new address.
I usualy hate indian food, but they have great stuff, the bombay potatoes are the best, and good naan bread
