Had a nice time here on Friday! Very friendly service in a warm environment. I got the eggs benny and added some Halloumi as i was extra hungry! Food came out pretty quickly, as i was still sipping on my coffee. The coffee was strong and the flavour was good.
The eggs were done perfectly so i got to see a nice bit of yolk porn as i ran my knife though it. I washed it down with a green juice and finished my coffee.
Next time i would like to try the Meat Feast Sub, i saw someone at the table next to me with it and i had a bit of food envy. haha
The prices are lower than other cafes but they haven't compromised quality. :)
When you want to take a break from all the fancy brekkies, edible flowers and want something reliable and comforting- Mocha Monkees is the place to go.
I ordered a Maiale Benedict and my wife ordered the Verdura Benedict. At $13.90 each, the dish is generous and very filling. You can tell that the chef & owner Patrick does not scrimp on flavour and ingredients. Despite being busy in the kitchen, he comes out and checks in on all the customers, making sure to greet all his regulars.
My only wish was that the eggs were runny as there’s nothing better than oozing yolk goodness in the morning.
Recently moved with work to this area and after trying a bunch of places around the area decided on Mocha Monkees for the coffee: it's the best coffee in the area, end of story. Also, unlike many other places, they hit it out of the park every day every coffee. Throw in three different coffee blends to choose from for whatever your mood is and it's just all win. (I recommend Forza for a smooth, rich morning pick up)
I've been getting into their meals as well though and they seem to be growing their range in even just the short time I've been going. I'll just pick a few of the things I've had to give some idea.
The pizzas are really good with the Sapore pizza having a bit of a spicy tang to it. It's become my go-to pizza from them. (It was today's lunch.)
Their counter has more ready made stuff but from there I can never look beyond the Chili Chicken Slaw Roll. Getting that toasted to go is excellent but messy!
Finally a mention of some of their burgers: the XL BBQ burger is a really tasty well put together 'standard' kind of burger however the Kuro Japanese beef burger is a step above for me. Patrick recommended it and it did take me a little while to try it but I should not have waited. Definitely worth a look if you fancy a burger.
Throw in ALL the friendly staff and it's all round just a great place to pop in by.
