Absolutely LOVED it. Ordered Pho (Vietnamese beef noodles soup), pad Thai and stir fry pepper sauce dish. All three tasted fantastic and were quite large portions. Service was impeccable, it was quiet at the time, but food came out incredibly fast. Vegetables were crisp and the pepper sauce stir fry was a perfect level of peppery/spiciness. The chef came out and sat behind the counter in the dining area and asked how we were enjoying the meals, all the staff seemed very much interested in the well being of the Cafe. Prices were very very surprisingly affordable given the great service, food taste and portion sizes, no meal cost more than $11.90. Want to go back there again, hopefully bringing friends

Amazing restraunt with some of the best food I’ve had in a very long time. Big portions and great taste alone with a very nice interior as well as exterior seating options.

When I first came here about a year ago, the coffee was terrible. I think it's under a new management now and the coffee was great however the vegetable omelette was lacking eggs. It was thin. It could have been more fuller imo. Service was great though and wait for food was decent considering how busy they were. Recommended place and will be back.

Had breakfast here. Mr. ordered ‘scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and tomato’. He was under charged which had us thinking something was odd. The waitress came out explaining “the chef made a mistake, I hope you don’t mind bacon and tomato”...that’s what he ordered! Coffee was lukewarm and fairly bitter. My eggs bene was great tho.

Very convenient; mostly edible; slightly over-priced cafe with very friendly and nice service where coffee can be great and the following day downright disgusting. For the first time in my life I threw away the coffee after the first sip. Shame, this location is prime for an other Low Road type of cafe here

Tables not cleaned up. Staff had trouble taking order; when coffee order came it was wrong and i asked 3 times for no dukkah and it still came with it. Bruschetta was not fresh and smashed avo had only 4 miserable crumbs of feta with no lemon (it was on the menu). Everyone else at the cafe at the same time were having issues too. Expensive for poor service and miserable, wrong food.

Bit disappointed at the Lunch/Brunch, but staff are really friendly. The chicken burger was nothing that it stated - it was not spicy, fried, or on a brioche bun. By the reviews, I guess it's best to have the Asian menu.

good atmosphere. Food and smoothes are delicious.

Read some of the reviews written by other foodies. Although the responses were up and down, my experience is positive. Explored this well set-up cafe with cosy vibe this morning. The first step that I walked in, my gaze was caught by the well presented cabinet with varieties of food choices. While I decided to go for a chicken pie, I was then attracted by the golden brown freshly baked scones. I changed my mind to order a scone with jam and cream and a flat white. Well, when the coffee came to the table, the aroma from the coffee was so strong that it was even better than the Campos and Merlo that I had in the Valley. Although the scone texture was not that spongy, I was happy with it because it was freshly baked. Overall, this cafe was not a bad choice for the locals.

Had the $47 value Groupon for two. The food and drinks were good but we were told we could ONLY get a small hot drink each. Didn't get our full voucher's worth. Feel like it's a bit of a scam.

Nice breakfast to start my monday :) I had fried rice, fresh juice and coffee. They were fresh and delicious. Really worth the trip from my place in Ipswich !

Had an awesome Saturday lunch using the Groupon voucher. Lovely piano music and decor. Generous servings, loved the spicy chicken burger and pancakes. Staff was very friendly.

Went to Bell Jar for lunch and ended up staying a lot longer than I intended to! Coffee was excellent, as was the pulled pork burger! Great green smoothie too. Generous servings and friendly staff. I will be visiting again.

Tried dinner here for the first time the other night, and it was really good! Huge portions, and really flavourful. Will definitely come back.

Since opening, the Bell Jar Cafe has been very inconsistent with their menu, service, atmosphere, and trading hours. As we live locally, we have popped in at various times for the convenience, each time having something new to complain about and never learning our lesson.

Originally, the Bell Jar Cafe served breakfast, lunch, and dinner but did not notify their clientele by posting new hours when they abruptly stopped serving dinner. The trading hours have since been posted and updated but I would not go close to their posted closing time as when I have tried to stop in just before close they were already completely locked up.

The brand of coffee served has changed over time and each time we order coffee it tastes different to the last time. When ordering from their menu, the size of the servings and the garnishes also change regularly and because of this it is impossible to determine value for money. The menu is also quite limited and for a cafe with a slogan of "simple food, done well" it does not appear that food is the focus at all.

On our last visit we were advised that they no longer served breakfast on weekday mornings with the exception of whatever is in their pastry cabinet. I would like to point out that on the menu under the breakfast heading it says "all day, every day!" It is this inconsistency that makes me wonder how this cafe is still in business.

Regardless of the great location, we will definitely no longer return to the Bell Jar Cafe as it always leaves us feeling annoyed and frustrated.

This cafe has definitely proven to have friendly staff and great presentation all around from the food to the decor! But the taste, that's a different story the eggs benedict sauce was really sour and had a paste consistency instead of a creamy texture. The eggs were not flavourful and the bacon was a little tough. I was not happy about the chai tea the taste just didn't do it for me. It tasted fake and musky plus they serve it with too much cinnamon. The muesli fruit bowl looked stunning so I ordered this but it was hard as a rock there was more pain around my mouth than satisfaction. Wish they'd do one with oats or a much softer muesli instead of a cluster.

We had breakfast and were very happy with the quality and setting. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and were able to a high chair for our Bub.

We ordered the shared breakfast platter which was a good idea. I've never had breakfast for two served that way before. Although one of the ingredients was out of stock, the food was fresh, plentiful and delicious.

Went for brekky on lazy Sunday morning with the Groupon voucher, $19 for 2, excellent value! We ordered the shared platter and it was huge, couldn't finished! Coffee & brekky are ice, the decor is modern & relaxing, the only negative is that u have to order at the counter.

Bell Jar is a super cute and modern cafe with a cool vibe. You can be seated indoors or it has a large outdoor seating area with cushions and brightly coloured chairs.
The service was a bit weird from when we first arrived, we were kind of acknowledged by the barista/waitress who was making a coffee, I was not sure if I should wait at the counter to greet her or if I should just take a seat. I waited for while while she ignored me and took a seat instead. Then she came to the counter so I got up and spoke to her.
The cafe has counter service, so I placed our order and had a seat outside.

I ordered the breakfast board for two and we each had a coffee.
The coffee was very very weak, I am not sure if it was an ultra smooth mild roast or it was just really weak, I think the latter. Also, I asked for larges and was brought out regular ones.
The breakfast board was a beauty. It was arranged very nicely, although the addition of tomato chutney or other condiment would have been nice. It was bountiful in bacon, eggs (I asked for poached), sausage, mushrooms, roast tomatoes, avocado, haloumi, pulled pork, toasted and buttered slices of some sort of loaf.

The board had its pros and cons:
Pros:
The bread, it was lovely fresh and buttery. I love my carbs
Roast tomatoes were lovely and sweet, although room temperature
Snag was tasty, if a little over done
Generous with the bacon
Could have fed three less-hungry people
Cons:
Poached eggs were way over done
Pulled pork seemed like an odd addition
Mushrooms could have been more cooked, but still pretty tasty
Haloumi was small, I wish we could have traded some of the bacon for haloumi

I was most impressed by the look of the cafe, it was bright, airy, with lovely decor. I lovely mix of modern with cosy homeliness. The pastries looked gorgeous, I wanted to get one for the ride home but I was too full. The service was unfriendly. The food was average. The coffee didn't give me the caffeine hit I needed!

I got a take away iced latte and chocolate brownie and both tasted nice. The service was friendly. The cafe is narrow but at the same time has a nice feel to it.

We had breakfast one cold Saturday morning-no heaters on outside so we shivered a bit!! The breakfast was mostly basic eg just avo & scrambled eggs etc. The avo was just that- avo on bread & the scrambled egg the partner had was that stuff which resembles string (in other words not real scrambled eggs) Coffee was passable, but we did order it strong which might be advisable- we ordered it hot but it wasn't!!
