Loved the croissants and in my opinion one of the best baguettes in Brisbane. Service was super friendly and I will definitely come more regularly.
Picked up some goodies for breakfast to enjoy at the nearby Captain Burke Park. Our order:
* almond croissant, $5.60
* sausage roll, $6
* lemon tart, $8
* custard kouign amann, $6
The almond croissant was good, but was wifey's pick so she had the bulk of it. I chose the sausage roll, didn't end up liking it too much but the son did so he had most of it. Just as well cos he chose the tart and we were dubious but he insisted so relented (felt a bit conscious about holding up the line), and in the end didn't like the lemon bit and only wanted to eat the shell!
I added the kouign amann as I'd been curious about them from seeing all the pics from Agnes. This one here was a pretty different shape though. I enjoyed it but being my first one I don't have any baseline for comparison.
The almond croissant, the sausage roll, the pain au chocolat tasted authentically French! The best FRENCH bakery in Brisbane!!
Ham/cheese, almond and Nutella croissants are all so delicious. Staff are really lovely. Will have to try the KA next time, looks so good.
Craved for a nice French Patisserie so drove to this store and wish they serve coffee now. Unfortunately, owner still insists on his/her focus to serve nice patisseries and leave the rooms for the neighbors. Having said that the passion deserves my appreciation.
Walked in and was tempted by the nice looking croissant with ham and cheese so got one and walked across the road for a coffee.
Doubtless, this croissant convinces a full marks from my review because it is so tastefulš.

Went here with the partner to grab some fresh croissants for weekend brunch.
We ordered the Nutella croissant, Coconut and Chocolate croissant, Goats Cheese and Honey croissant (personal favourite as I like savouries), and a Kouign Amann (a Breton speciality; beautifully layered and simply delicious).
Friendly service. Casual ambience with limited outdoor seating. Constant turnover of fresh French pastries. Reasonable prices (all four of our pastries totalled to $23.50).
Overall, possibly our new favourite French boulanger for takeaway croissants!
Always a fan of baked goods, I had heard a number of really great things about Christian Jacques which is situated near the main street of Kangaroo Point. Knowing how popular they were, I headed there as early as I could, within the reasonable limits of my lunch hour.Ā . Was fairly excited when I saw their menu listed on the blackboard. The nutella croissant especially caught my attention.
Came here to get croissants and I was not disappointed! There was a line when I arrived, but plenty of pastries to go around as the display cabinet was frequently being refilled. I ordered the pistachio&chocolate and bacon, goat cheese and honey croissant. The pistachio&chocolate croissant was crispy, flaky and had well aerated layers of yeasted dough, however, I felt that it was lacking in the pistachio department. There was a slight taste of artificial flavouring that I tasted when I got to the middle and I won't order this flavour again. The bacon on the other hand, was just absolutely delicious and generously filled with goat cheese and honey. I could smell the honey even when I put the pastries in my backpack! The service was great. I'll definitely come back for croissants again!
Best croissants in Brisbane (and better than a lot had in France). The baguette is also crusty outside and airy inside . Warmly recommended.
Really good croissants! There is only really limited seating and they donāt serve coffee (or have cutlery) but itās definitely worth swinging by to pick some up. Baked fresh everyday.
I would say one of the best and authentic French bakery there is in Brisbane. Crusty & flaky on the outside and buttery moist on the inside.
For a fulfilling meal, try the ham and cheese croissant and then grab a coffee from one of the cafƩ nearby for a great way to kick start the day!
Other pastries are also really tasty, not overly sweet and taste fresh with crusty
Do note that queue is always there, even before opening time.
On arrival before 8 am in the morning, there was a queue of about 10 people waiting to be served - usually a good sign. I can say this place certainly lives up to its almost 5 star reputation on reviews.
The croissants themselves are perfectly aerated and crispy, with deliciously buttery - no dryness at all.
There are multiple savoury and sweet options to choose from.
The sweet options I personally enjoy are the Nutella and Custard. The sweetness level is perfect, and should be an acceptable level to those who don't have the biggest sweet tooth.
In terms of savoury, I would highly recommend the Goat Cheese and Bacon option, the flavours balance out really well. There is a Three Cheeses option available but that is a little on the strong side if you're not such a fan of rich cheesiness.
Prices are reasonable, especially for the size, ranging from $6-$8 for the croissant options.
Definitely one of the best croissant locations in Brisbane, and dare I say much much better than a certain very hyped opening in the past few months.
Well Iāve found it! One of my favourite bakeries in West End stopped making Almondines about 8 years ago. Since then Iāve been on the search. No longer!! The ones here are heaven sent. The outside pastry is to die for and the inside is light and fluffy. Perfection š. The plain croissant was exceptional. The bacon, goats cheese and honey croissant was out of this world. What an amazing combination of flavours. Phew. The vanilla slice and raspberry danish will simply have to wait until I get home! Iām going to explode š Already planning my return and what will be on the menu š„° Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to mention the custard croissant. You guessed it! And that custardā¦ mmmmmm
Do yourself a favour, go n line up...50m long. This place is legit the best in Brisbane. Every weekend searching for a real French bakery.
Sunny coast is La Petit souris is by far the best. I used to love King St bakery, but Christian Jacques omg.
Your range is amazing n 100% flavourful, prefect crunch n flake with soft center.
Seriously, the best croissants ever! Arrived around 9:45am on Sunday and there's already a small line, by the time I got in and ordered the line had doubled in size. The almond croissant and regular croissants were my favourite. I thought Lune croissants were good but Christian Jacques is even better in my opinion. 5/5 stars. Will definitely return.
So this is love? One of the best bakeries in Brisbane. 10/10 every time.
We came at 7:30am on a Friday. No line up.
The best bakery in Brisbane. Give it a try and don't lieš it's simply the best.
This is the Danish that you've been dreaming of. Or, this the Danish that will teach you how to understand and appreciate the state of the art (for bakeries).
Look at it... closely. The pastry: a bit crunchy outside, never dry nor wetšš». The custardš¤² is just right. Not too sweet, not too heavy, and not just as thin as Vegemite on a toast.āš»
The apricots... they could be from a can, but you wouldn't understand it cause everything is just super good. Chapeau Robespierre! You've done šš»...
I meant Christian J.
This place needs to be on your bucket list and it will instantly become your go to....that's if you can get in the door! It's a hidden gem. #iykyk
If you value a little bit of luxury in your life for under $10, this is it!
There is a reason why the queue goes down the street and around the corner.
I cant go past the Almond Croissants, but try to sample something different each visit. Everything is yum, yum, yum!
They don't serve coffee, but there are plenty of places around to do just that, then wander down to the river front and enjoy!
