Time to update my last review on this restaurant so we visit for a light dinner. The complimentary Pork Soup is hot and tasty whetting our appetites. Sweet and a Sour Fried Pork is good. The Salt and Pepper Prawns are very fresh and is recommended. Overall a decent meal and I appreciated the fragrant Pu-Erh Tea.

Seafood this place definitely has. Although make sure you have cash cause the “card price” is $10+ more.

The scallops were very fresh, and the mud crab was cooked well - at $58/kg my understanding is you can pick the way to cook it, and if you choose with vermicelli (what we got) or add egg yolk then it’s $15 more.

It was a nice touch to get complimentary soup to start off with, along with melon slice and sweet dessert soup after they take away the mains. Definitely above average place you should try if you want some fancy mud crab or fresh fish.

The closing down of its sibling which mainly focused in serving Yum Cha @ Fortitude Valley near the Emporium sets the alarm to review the trading strategy of this restaurant. In order to survive among the terrible competitions around, a new lunch special menu had been come out for a while. Generous offers on the lunch menu provide lots of foods, including congee, rice, noodles soup and fried noodles. for customers to choose from.

Explored it yesterday and ordered a chicken congee and a dish of shredded roast duck with vermicelli. Honestly, service has improved a lot with very attentive attitude. Our orders came to the table very quick. Portions are reasonable. Congee is tasteful and chicken fillets are passable. Hero should be the other dish of shredded duck with vermicelli. There are more than enough shredded roasted duck meats in the dish. Importantly, the taste is very delicious, which is perfectly matched with the congee. For a set price of $9.80 including Chinese tea for each dish, it should be a win win situation to the restaurant and the customers. Thumb-up!

Time is flying and my last review of this restaurant has been nearly three years. For the past few years, I witness the growth of business of this near-by-work restaurant. Went to have dinner in group of five last night. Service was friendly and attentive. Ordered the Mud Crab set dinner for six. First came to the table was the house-made soup, which was rich and flavourable (4/5). Next was the pork ribs with slat & pepper. Taste was right but batter was too thick (3/5). The hero mub crab came next, which was full and sauce with ginger and shallot was rich and tasteful (4.5/5). Steamed oyster with ginger and shallot came with very large and fresh oyster in shell, which was well done (4/5). Roast duck was also outstanding, crispy skin with tenderised meat, thumb-up (4.5/5) Chinese vegetable with high soup was refreshing (3.5/5). Steamed silver perch was done perfectly (4/5). Melon of the after-dinner fruit platter won lots of "LIKE". Overall, i can see the improvement of this restaurant and wish them all the best in the future.

Price war on "lunch special" is not limited to Korean restaurants. I tried the Suncorp at Sunnybank Plaza and ordered a dish of Combination Fried Ho Fan which is only $9.80 with free drink of your choices. Service is friendly and attentive. I can see the passion from the chef and the taste of Ho Fan is nice. Moreover, I discover that they are currently promoting new dishes of Chaozhou cuisine. I would come back to try them one day.

Went here with the parents for a late-night weekend dinner. We were promptly greeted and seated, with arrivals of tea, bowls and cutlery.

We ordered white rice to share, as well as:
- Fried sole: crispy, fried fish; be careful of bones.
- Green asian vegetables: simple gai lan with black bean sauce.
- Half roast duck: generous portions of meaty roast duck; not too salty either.
We were presented with complimentary warm broth as a starter, which was flavourful and delicious.
After our meals, we were also presented with complimentary fresh watermelon pieces and coconut tapioca pudding. A great finish!

Very friendly and efficient service. Reasonable prices. Casual ambience.

Overall, a solid Chinese restaurant to bring the family/friends.

Food in Suncorp is very tasty, they know how to cook good seafood. In addition, the service is great. Which I find it's hard to in among Chinese restaurants here.

Will definitely come back.

Simmering 39 degrees in Brisbane today so we were looking forward to dinner at Sunnybank Plaza's Golden Lane. We arrived early before 6pm and were told the restaurant was booked out. Unbelievable! As my girlfriend had her mind set on a Cantonese meal with steamed rice we walked to Suncorp a hundred metres away.

The new owners of Suncorp have been operating this restaurant for 2 years. I had a midnight supper here with friends 6 months earlier and the fried noodles were delicious. As we walked in a friendly waitress showed us to our table and I asked for a pot of Oolong tea. The tea arrived with the menus and as I queried the waitresses I realised they spoke limited English. Being extra vigilant I placed our order, deep fried quails, steamed oysters, stir fried scallops & snow peas and fried pork ribs with garlic.

Twenty minutes later we were served our oyster entree. Inexplicably, the waitress wrote fried battered oysters instead of steamed oysters. The supervisor who spoke perfect English apologised for the mistake and reordered the steamed oysters. I made a mental note to order through this supervisor in future.

Our meals arrived and the standout dish were the fried quails which were beautifully done. The pork ribs and scallop dishes were good, not outstanding. The steamed oysters were small and skinny and were a disappointment. This meal receives a rating of 3.0. The staff were attentive, polite and happy to please, pushing my overall rating to 3.5.

In any Oriental restaurant where one feels uncomfortable speaking to wait staff (who cannot understanding English), please ask for someone who speaks English.

On Behalf of everyone that attended Jenny's Chinese New Year Celebrations on Saturday night, I want to say massive thank you to William and Angela who lead a very efficient team that made the evening seamless and enjoyable. The team of staff were accommodating and nothing was an issue. Everyone truly had a sense of culture as we celebrated the New Year, the Lion Dance added to the atmosphere. The banquet was of high quality, the portion sizes were adequate for the volume of people. The highlight that people mentioned was the Lobster in Cheese sauce. Everyone experienced positive feelings and emotions as the night was the first time many had experienced CNY.The year of the Rooster has started off with fantastic enthusiasm. Thank you very much Suncrop Restaurant!

Not bad. I come here for lunch special all the time. Its cheap under $10 for a dish with drink. Hot chinese tea and spacious. Dinner is alright, always come here for dinner with the family. Cant say its the best but its alright good for value.

They do reasonable roast duck and some decent seafood dishes, but can be a little pricey for these items. Other dishes are okay, I wouldn't say this place really stands out with the stiff competition around Sunnybank, but it's pretty decent food.

I came here last week for a change of pace from what I usually have for my weekend dinner out. We didn't have a reservation and were still seated. However, I do recommend getting one as they don't have a lot of tables and do seem to be quite busy, particularly on weekends.

The entreè soup actually came in a large bowl this time as opposed to just one serving per person which is much more plentiful than what I normally get at Parkland. Granted, the dishes are much more expensive here.

The standout dish was the sizzling black pepper oysters with onion dish - a must for oyster fans. Oh and be careful touching the utensils in the dish - it will be an unpleasant surprise that will greet you whilst you are trying to scoop some of that delectable sauce to your rice dish. We also had the seafood hot pot which and crispy chicken which were quite flavoursome. I really enjoyed the prawn chips that came with the crispy chicken and wish there were more on the dish.

Like most other Chinese restaurants, complimentary fruit and sweet dessert is also served. The service was fine. Everything did come in good time and was quite efficient. I would definitely return.

The food was delicious. I recommend the 2 course roast duck, the tofu and the salted fish fried rice. The staffs was friendly and helpful, during our time dining there.

The pork buns and custard buns are the best in town! Top 3 yum cha place in Brisbane. However the service is not too great.

Ordered the dumplings, custard egg tarts, brisket, chicken feet, eggplant and prawn, hargou dumplings, combination dumplings, chicken steamed rice with ginger, calamari, rice noodles with prawn, taro cake, and vegetable dumplings. All tasted nice but the calamari had been sitting there for a while so it was quite chewy and we had ordered 2 servings.

The dim sims that we ordered , were very tasty. Chicken feet dish was good. The black bun with salt egg custard is a must try. It seemed the place is under staffed. Took a while for tea to be topped up?

After asking around for recommendations, we’re told to visit Haoke, for its dim sum. The location was a little tricky to find but nothing major. They sell a wide array of yum cha, Cantonese and Szechwan cuisine, and other Chinese dishes. Most dishes are affordably priced, and they open late, until 2am. Our favourite dishes were the massive and succulent XL Crab Roe Dim Sums and the Prawn Dumplings. Another nice dish that we tried was the Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce. Overall, the dim sum have lived up to their reputation. We’ll return to try their a la carte menu

Had yum cha session with some friends. We shared about a dozen different items and everything worked out to be about $17 per head which was fairly good value - we didn't go crazy, but neither did we leave hungry... pretty much a Goldilocks level of just right. Highlight of the meal was this black (charcoal?) version of the 流沙包 (runny egg custard bun aka lava bun) which was perfectly executed - light fluffy bun encasing a rich, oozy molten mess of hot salted egg custard. Not sure of the price, but definitely worth trying. I'd suggest either taking a few small, gingerly bites to begin with, or tear open carefully. Noticed that the restaurant also has a new-ish bubble tea/yoghurt drinks stall (Happen Tea)! Didn't get any this time but will definitely keep in mind to try out next time.

We missed the Yum Cha very much. Hopefully, they are back in business soon. The place speaks for itself. Without reserving a table, one may have to wait for a vacant table. The business is so good. So do the Yum Cha!

I found the spicy wok chicken was one of the best meals I've had in years, flavour was unbelievable. The steamed barramundi was also cooked to perfection, had the deep fried white bait and so impressed with those. Would highly recommend this restaurant and those dishes.
