Been living in Sandgate for a while and was unaware of this gem until recently.
Very happy with the amount of good offerings under $10 (special note to jalapeno bagels) and good coffee.
Was worth missing my train for....

OMG!!! My favourite coffee joint ever. They have the best iced-chocolates :) Very good vibes, nice coffee, food I am yet to try food from here but the service and atmosphere is super swag. A Sandgate treasure this place is. I would go here every day if I could but I would WAY more poor than I already am, but it is always such a treat to get a drink from here :)

Asked for a large got a jumbo.
Coffee was over shot and bitter hasn't changed a bit.

I think the women that run this pace are aces!
Great coffee too and always with a kind smile and sometimes even fit a quick chat in. The food is simple but tasty and the dining atmosphere suits the simple fare and vibe. Great location too right next to the train station. It's good to get great coffee when you're on the run.

Best coffee Ive had in awhile! Not burnt. Perfect temperature and right next to the station so I can grab and go before work.

Use to grab the occasional coffee from here before work. Lovely staff, always friendly, and amazing coffee - never burnt. Reasonably priced too.

Good coffee and friendly staff

This place is great as a coffee or rest stop just before hopping on the train. The service is quick and they have a great range of options. Try their smoothies, they're super healthy and delicious!

I wanted this to be a good experience. We often look for small quirky outlets when on a coffee and tea run. Ideal location and some degree of dog friendly. Iced coffee on soy was easy enough but no Chai tea despite the range of other T2 selections available.

Then the toast. Asked for a serve thinking it was two slices for $4. But turns out its $6 for 2 slices. Certainly high end prices for a piece of reasonably flavorless toast.

So all in all it filled the need but didn't jump out at us. Staff on duty were OK but not sparkling in a competitive market. We are unlikely to be back but will watch out for future reviews in case there is a shift in delivery.

Decided I'd catch an early train the other morning to grab a coffee before I adventure off to the city. The place was quaint and in a great spot. The coffee was awesome, large and reasonably priced. Wasn't to keen on the muffin, definitely stale and had been sitting there for a few days. Not even a good microwaving could save it. Will be back for coffee though :)

Lovely coffee, very cute little place with a nice atmosphere. Such potential. Much like the other reviews i find the staff aloof and quite frankly asleep. I appreciate that it takes time to make good coffee. Cypher clientelle are on the way to work and need to catch the train. Such a shame that staff cant understand i dont have to wait while they respond and move at snail speed. Despite having 10 mins up my sleeve i missed my train, so unfortunately i'll have to buy my coffee's in the city.

Great coffee! Best I've had in a long time! Great atmosphere. Food is simple but really good. Awesome wee place. Leanne and I will be back for sure!

Good coffee, always consistent. Staff are aloof and inattentive. Often feels like you've interrupted a personal conversation when you walk up to order.

Great atmosphere - even just out the window. Super cute set up with great food (and iced coffee). Staff are always polite and happy when serving you and food is always fast.

Cypher is a gorgeous little New York style cafe with minimal seating, right outside Shorncliffe train station. They do a generous serve of banana bread that goes down a treat with their consistently good, top-notch coffee. Cypher offers a small but pleasant menu with your classic croissant, bagel varieties as well as muesli and acai bowls.

Decent Coffee, Airy Shop. Convenient location, cute little jars for their iced coffees and the table inside is just the right height - a rare thing for most coffee shops nowadays. Sometimes staff are a little laid back in their service times, but thankfully they're good-natured about customers walking through an empty shop and knocking on the kitchen door. Occasionally I've had staff forget my loyalty card stamps and not bother to interact with me while I waited - I like talking to my baristas - but the store owner is lovely and hardworking, so it's hard to begrudge the fact that her staff are all a little too casual about their workplace sometimes.

Good coffee but bad astmosphere. I've been here a few times but have only ever gotten take away coffees/food and always been happy with the quality, service and price. I had a bit of free time yesterday and decided to sit inside, big mistake. The entire time I was there all I heard were the staff gossiping about various people in their lives as if I wasn't there. I had hoped to find the experience to be a relaxing moment out of a bad week but instead just wanted to eat my food and be out of there as soon as possible to get away from their constant gossiping. Whilst I was there I noticed that a few take away customers had to wait to be served not because the staff seemed overly busy but were happy to take their time providing service. This was partly due to the fact that the staff were out the back most of the time.

I had high hopes for this business but I think if I go back I'll stick to getting take aways.
