Finally a fish and chip shop my daughter can go to. Spent ages contacting fish and chip shops to see what they had for gluten free. Most in the past have been horrid, soggy and expensive. This place we just happened upon and wow- gluten free, super delicious gluten free batter and chips to die for it. And wait for it -4 people ate lunch for under $55! Lovely staff, excellent service. We will be back as our new favourite chippery on the Goldy!
We have been living in Burleigh for years. We have seen restaurants come and go. However, I am confident that Red Hot Cod will be around for many years to come. I really enjoyed my meal this afternoon, I had fish with a Quinoa side salad. It was just fabulous, fresh and extremely delicious. Excellent customer service...I highly recommend dining here.
The chips were nice and crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, nice baseline for a chip. In the beach box, the crumbed whiting was absurdly salty compared to the rest of the box which was nicely salted and seasoned, no complaints there. The calamari was not overly chewy or too stiff. The seafood stick is just fake crab. The prawn cutlets were also nice but also average. The salad was tangy and generally flavorful, average. The battered cod and sea perch were alright, not too salty, average, nice baseline.
Availability of GF fish and chips was a huge treat for the other half when we were passing by Red Hot Cod. Fish was grilled and absolutely delicious and the chips cooked to perfection. Will definitely stop in here again when we're down the Coast.
Great portion, fresh fish & chips. A combination of a seafood box and a fish fillet would feed two hungry adults for sure. A seafood box even would be enough for two half-full adults.
Went here with my fiance for an early takeaway dinner by the beach and we definitely weren't disappointed! The service was good and quick and the food was amazing! Just as good as all the reviews say. We weren't overly hungry and shared the seafood box for one and it was just enough for both of us. Everything was super tasty and the battered fish wasn't oily which was lovely.
5 stars where 5 stars are due beautiful fish & chips with a nice sea breeze coming in from across the road excellent customer service and very clean establishment even the $5 snack box is a bargain and filling.
This place has awesome fish n chips. Fresh, well cooked and not greasy.
Great spot near the water for all manner of fish and chips. I got the fried perch and my wife the grilled salmon.
OMG!!! Such an amazing feed of fish and chips! Had the snapper and Spanish mackerel, beer battered with chips and Greek salad.
Fish was perfectly cooked, chips were crunchy and huge! With nice flakey salt to go.
An excellent place for a great feed, highly recommend, don’t often post reviews but simply had to as it can be difficult to find a great fish n chip shop, well done!
