I walked in from the hotel and even though busy they found me a table for 1 straight away. I was brought complimentary prawn crackers but handed them back as I was vegetarian. To my delight I was promptly brought some vegetarian crackers with chilli sauce. My spicy vegetable curry and rice was quick to come to the table, a large serve and totally delicious with yummy sides of pickled veg and Indonesian salad. Highly recommend this restaurant based on value for money, food quality and great service. And for the record, spicy, is spicy here!
My boyfriend and I ate here tonight and had the banquet style menu, we absolutely LOVED it! From beginning to end there was no dish brought out that neither of us liked or loved. Every dish was so more-ish, we ended up rolling out of there at the end of the night with our desserts in takeaway containers! Our waitress was absolutely exceptional and friendly in her service, and both of us agreed that she made our night.. we eat out a fair bit, and could safely say this was one of the best meals we'd had at a restaurant.. we'll be recommending this place to everyone!!

The food was unbelievable, so fresh and tasty. We had the $59pp banquet, the value for money and portion sizes were very generous. The staff were attentive and friendly. I'll definitely be visiting again, well worth adding Bayleaf to your list of must try restaurants.
One of the best restaurants in Cairns. You can choose to be seated indoors or outdoors. We chose indoors cos it was very hot outside. The menu had many dishes and the waiter was glad to answer all our queries. Enjoyed everything that we ordered. Will definitely go back there if I'm at Cairns.
We got the set menu at $59pp to ensure we tried everything. If was so much delicious food all presented beautifully. Standouts were the sate skewers. They are understaffed so it's best to be patient during busy periods. We left full to the brim!
Lovely Balinese restaurant in Cairns, with great ambience. The food was delicious, and we particularly recommend the duck parcels in banana leaf, and the nasi goreng. The skewers were succulent and very tasty as well.
Would like to particularly make mention of the lovely staff who were very courteous and accommodating on what was a hugely busy night for the restaurant, and the hot and humid weather certainly didn't help, especially with masks on the whole time.
Would definitely recommend anyone visiting Cairns to drop in to Bayleaf Balinese for a very warm and hearty meal.
Loved the chicken and pork sate (beef was a bit overcooked) and the presentation was 💯! Nasi goreng waa avg for the price and ribs were delicious! Come by between 5:30-6.30 for $5 drinks!!
Our group of 3 thoroughly enjoyed the set menu dinner here - we found it to be great value and very filling. The staff were great too. It's always quite busy here too, which is a good sign. Food came out quickly too. Highly recommended if you like delicious, flavoursome food!
Surprisingly good back street find. Great attendance by the staff. The food was above average in price however the serving size was large and the quality was high so it was justified. Good variety of choice and the skewers were awesome on their own charcoal cooker.
