Review Salotto - Canberra

Fantastic Italian restaurant and enjoyable experience! The staff were friendly, extremely helpful and assisted with food and wine recommendations. From the entrees, mains to desserts, every meal was appreciated by our group of friends. The ambiance in the restaurant made us feel warm and welcomed. Great location and the service was fantastic. We would all recommend this restaurant!

The food was wonderful. Truly Italian cooking. The reasons I didn't give 5 stars are 1: I had an Amaretto Sour cocktail. Two sips and it was gone. A lot of money for a glass of ice. 2: I had garlic prawns and spaghetti Al mare. It would be nice to have had a bowl for the shells.

The best Italian food I've eaten for a long time - especially loved the "straw and hay" spaghetti, which was amazing. Wine is well priced, and our group of 7 had a great night.

Have been here a few years ago and it was good. Unfortunately had an average experience tonight. For example, Pizzas did not have any cheese and all the toppings basically fell off the pizza. No one offered Parmesan cheese with our pasta. It took a long time for someone to take our drinks order. After that, food was quite quick. Probably won’t be back.

Coming from a town rich with homemade italian restaurant's on every corner this one is pretty good. Food was really nice with good portion sizes. Stand out for me was how tender my chicken was cooked. Personally not the best pizza I've had but that's me being picky. Restaurant has a cool vibe, we sat outside which was fine as there is adequate heating. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Overall we had a lovely evening and left with our bellies full and no complaints. Give it a go!

Would reccomend! Food was a solid 8/10 nothing out of this world but a solid choice for a regular occasion. Table service and front of house staff are unreal!! The water was always replaced. The tables were clears as soon as others left. All staff were very friendly and inviting. If you're one for the extra 1%ers and you like the overall experience and not just the food, this is a great choice !!!

I had a great experience here. I ordered the mushroom risotto. The flavour was incredible. Sadly the rice wasn't cooked the whole way through, but the waiter brought me my second choice within a few minutes, as well as a round of drinks on the house as an apology. I'm sad that the risotto wasn't right because it tasted so good, but the service and recovery from their mistake was so wonderful that I'm keen to go back and try the risotto next time I'm in town. Everything else my family had tasted delicious. Super impressed with this place.

Amazing food! We had 3 courses and all the meals we had were delicious. The staff were prompt and helpful. Only issue was where we were seated, it was almost directly under a screen that was being used by staff to log orders we ended up having to move the table down further so that we didn't feel like staff were on top of us. Definitely a great place for an awesome meal :-)

Amazing food, amazing service!! We went to Salotto for lunch for Mother's Day yesterday and had such a great experience! Staff were very accommodating and friendly! Food was delicious, especially the parmigiana and veal saltimbocca! We all cleaned our plates! Highly recommend!

My sons christening was held at Salotto and it was fantastic. So much delicious food, and the staff were very attentive. Pascoe and his staff decorated the venue the night before for me so i didnt have to worry about it in the morning. I would totally recommend Salotto. It's also very baby friendly which is a huge plus for me!

We had the best meal and quick - had a show in Civic to go to so told the waiter, we were in and out within the hours. Recommended the Chicken Parmigiana 10/10.

Attentive staff, and interesting menu that goes beyond the usual Italian fare, and the food was good. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the opportunity to sit in the corner and people watch while having dinner for one!

The food and atmosphere was great, we had such a lovely afternoon celebrating my birthday. The staff were really helpful in organising a large group, we really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Does anyone remember a time when focaccia was the height of sophistication and restaurants serving huge portions of comforting pasta were the place to be? Let’s call it ‘the early 2000s’. This young foodie had just moved to the big smoke of Canberra and, back then, if you wanted delicious Italian with all the swank of Kingston, you headed to Santa Lucia.

I came here for a mid week dinner and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the pasta for entree and pizza for main. Both dishes were cooked well and had plenty of flavour. The service was very friendly and attentive. There is a huge bar inside and descent amount of drinks on the menu to choose from. The food menu is generous and there are plenty of dishes on offer. Definitely worth a try.

The absolute best value lunch offer in town must be at Santa Lucia @ Salatto, newly arrived to Kennedy Street Kingston. $9.90 will buy you a large glass of wine (beer or soft drink), some crusty fresh bread, and a chicken salad, pasta, risotto, pizza, canneloni, veal parmigana or focaccia. It was so amazing I just had to see if it was true!

Wow! Rarely does a restaurant surprise you for entree, main and dessert. Italian food cooked without cutting corners, then each dish has a modern twist... Sent my taste buds into overload.

Had an early dinner here after work. Prompt and friendly service. Atmosphere quite nice, although the bar stools we were seated on for dinner were a little awkward to get up on and off of.

Food was nice - not the best Italian but certainly not the worst. The pasta dishes we ordered were generously portioned but lacked flavour. The garlic bread wasn't that impressed and lack the punch of buttery garlic you expect from fresh garlic bread.

Overall it was an enjoyable evening but nothing spectacular.

I came here last night. The decor - the contrast between the new and old - is interesting and was very inviting. The service was also friendly and efficient. The has some good options, pretty typical of Italian restaurants. I had Gnocchi with mozzarella, parmesan and napoletana sauce. It was ok, gnocchi was slightly overcooked, for my liking and the sauce was...well, just ok.
With so many places to try, not sure that I'd be back in a hurry.

Salotto is amazing. The food is perfection. Had zucchini balls which were amazing. Had the polenta chips (didn't think I'd like but I LOVED) Had Gnocchi (perfection) All in all one of the best feeds I've ever had.

I went to Salotto with some friends. For starters, we were asked if we wanted drinks about 4 times, even though all I wanted was water. When the drinks for my friends finally came out, they forgot who ordered what and got the orders muddled up. One of my friends needed to leave early, but they would not accommodate her to be served early on, so she missed out on food. We waited almost an hour for our meal, on a Wednesday night. The meals were bland, some pastas were cold, and the pizza was not fully cooked, but cost an arm and a leg. I do not recommend this place at all.

I’ve been keen to try Salotto in Kingston since it opened last month, so when my friend came back from a long overseas trip, we headed there to catch up. We started with drinks – unfortunately my mojito, whilst a generous size, was like having a lot of rum punch you in the face – there was no subtlety and I couldn’t come close to finishing it, it was so alcoholic. We picked the gameroni all’aglio as our entree, prawns in

Replacing The Kennedy Room in Kingston, is newly opened Salotto Bar and Kitchen. By the same owners as Santa Lucia Trattoria down the road, this modern Italian eatery offers the shorter version of Santa Lucia’s menu. You’ll find some tempting starters such as an antipasto platter, arancini balls and zucchini fritters. Pastas are homemade and are to change regularly with three types of sauces remaining constant. A selection of pizzas are available as well as your meat options like rib eye, veal scallopini, and fish fillet. The porchetta of 1.2kg stuffed and rolled pork belly looks absolutely amazing.
