Let me start by saying the place has a very comfortable and realistic feel of an Asian eatery. Good service, personal attention, quiet ambience and a natural calmness.
Food is good to top up the overall end to end experience. Only complaint of mine was on the spice quotient of food to give it an authentic feel and taste.

I came in with high expectations because I looked at the menu prior and everything seemed unique, but ultimately was quite disappointed (maybe I just chose the wrong dishes?). The lamb shanks and duck we ordered was deep fried (unexpectedly). The flavours were awesome and the lamb would've been perfect if it had more sauces as it was dry (the splash of mayo did nothing) and the crispy duck batter was not enjoyable, we ended up taking off the batter and the duck portion was tiny without the batter 😅.
The balmain bug dumplings were okay, I liked the vinegar sauce it went well with the saltiness of the dumpling.
For the quality and portions sizes it was not worth the pricey bill imo, we had just eaten at the boathouse the night before so that's what I'm comparing this to.
The waitress was lovely though and very attentive, decor was pleasant.

Stay two days in Canberra, Wild Duck is definitely the best we had here! Very good service and food! Highly recommend the peppercorn Angus Cubes, juicy and tender with full flavours!

Really enjoyable food and drinks, attentive service, great setting. Pleasantly atmospheric and yet not too noisy, so conversation is very comfortable. Duck was great, my ocean trout was superbly lightly fried and the special desert of the day (picture enclosed) was both beautifully constructed and delicious. One of my new favourites.

The Wild Duck degustation banquet is worth every dollar. The chef takes you on a journey of his signature dishes and it does not disappoint.
Each dish had its own unique flavour and really demonstrated the variety Asian cuisine can offer.
The wine pairing was good, but spaced in an interesting way. If you know what wines you would like to pair with your favourite dishes on the menu I would suggest ordering them before each dish separately.

We took the wild meal banquet and couldnt be happier! The duck is well seasoned and not bad. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the squid and took mine! The dumplings for me are the winner as they are perfect with the dips. The mains are pretty good with a balance of pork, seafood and veggies. The creme brulee is just good and no complaints and the banana is well caramelised. Would come back again!

Pretty average 'fancy' Chinese food more geared towards western tastes. The signature chefs menu was a little pricey for the food that came out, and wait times were quite extended. A few dishes that fell flat was the king prawn which came out over cooked for me with a strong fishy smell, which led me to believe it's not very fresh and the fried fish dish. The Peking duck pancakes were also ok, more meat on it than usual which may be geared towards western expectations. The curry was overly sweet with too much coconut milk being used. High light of the menu was the kung Pao chicken which was beautifully spiced and cooked. Overall it was an ok experience but you may find better value elsewhere.
