Review Harmonie German Restaurant - Canberra

Sundus -
Had their apple strudel and omg! This place made me realise that I am in fact a dessert person, I just had been having the wrong desserts my entire life. It’s so so good! Their chicken Kiev was so juicy and buttery. Food portions are pretty big! Definitely coming back!

Came to try the Pork Knuckle and it was great tasting but too dry on the outside so a lot of dry meat got wasted. The pickled Cabbage was delicious. The beer was great. I was looking forward to trying the Strudel but didn't have any.

The service was great. We booked a table for a work event. The food is pretty average, nothing fancy. Serving size is generous though

Massive portions and great value for money. Daily specials are great and there's a varied enough menu to cater for just about anyone. Photo is of the wurst platter that I could barely finish half of.

What an amazing club. The Admin Manager (and the club of course) supported our Biggest Morning Tea assisting us to raise donations for an amazingly worthy charity. The staff were very helpful, extremely friendly and professional A HUGE thank you to Kat and the team. Some of us stayed for a meal and cold refreshments enjoying the newly renovated areas. I would recommend this club to anyone looking for a relaxing and friendly club with great food.

Very big portion and very delicious. Couldn't possibly finish so took it away and had the left over next day.

Served in the restaurant. The food was excellent, however, it took about an hour for food to arrive. When I asked for table water I was given a jar, but told I needed to go another area (front bar) to get some glasses (they had run out in that area) - due to the layout of the building, and my travelling with two young children, not at all ideal. Another staff member did later assist which was very lovely. Based on other reviews, this may not be the usual thing. Food was definitely good - just don't be in a rush.

Pleasant staff. Really good venue for singers and bands as it is quite intimate. Not too loud even if sitting down the front. Food very tasty. They are going to have a lot of shows in near future. Very good value. Went for show only this time. Some teens were with their parents. Highly recommend.

Nice place, good beer, ive had a few meals there lately which i have enjoyed but i had the pork schnitzel the other night and was disappointed, the most smallest and thin pork schnitzel ive ever had, was cooked ok but not worth the price of 20 odd dollars.

Another great night out with friends and family, a relaxed atmosphere, lovely venue and the food is fantastic! We were on a mission: to tackle the famous pork knuckle, no wonder you have to order in advance the day before...it was cooked to perfection, tender meat surrounded by crispy crackling and enough side to accompany it. I'm glad I ate lightly all day. Topped off with a dark German beer . The kid's meal was really good too, just what a child enjoys, a main and ice cream for dessert. I'm sure we will be back...there is more on the menu.

Fantastic food, sausages amazing with all the trimmings. The schnitzel trio was huge with a full veal chicken and pork schnitzel. Well priced and expertly cooked. I'm from Sydney's this matches the three German restaurants I've tried in Sydney.

This club is an absolute gem! The vibe and atmosphere is just so welcoming, you feel you're right at home and the food is INCREDIBLE! I had tears of joy biting into my lunch, I feel I could've eaten the plate! The serving sizes are very generous for what you pay for, you better bring your appetite! We will be back, regularly from now on

Sunday 29/10/17 - We turned up 40 minutes late for our group booking in Knuckles restaurant. You went out of your way to fit us in even though you were just about closed. Food was amazing and the variety of beers was great. Will be back next time in Canberra. Hope you enjoyed the tip!

We took a big group (30) there for dinner in a private room. Great food and ambiance and we had a very nice bartender take care of us. Only spoiled by a very rude and abrupt woman serving from the kitchen.

Amaaaaazing chicken schnitzel!! A gem of a place, I'll be telling everyone :)

Oh my god, the pork knuckle!!! The crackling comes ultra crispy and no hard bits like some other German restaurants. It even stays crispy until the end of the meal. Love it love it love it. Huge fan and i come back all the time.

It's good to know there's a decent German restaurant around but it's still just a club bistro (but note that Knuckles is up the stairs at the back of the club, while the front section has a more standard bistro menu).  Maybe I should have had the pork knuckle but I had fried camembert that was not fried enough plus some good sausages. Dishes aren't cheap but they are big. The selection of German beer was poor and the beer prices were high for a club.

I ordered a pork filet dish with saurkraut and creamed potatoes because I thought I'd try something other than their famous knuckle! Promptly spent the night regretting my choice, looking longingly at my partner's pork knuckle (sounds dirtier than it actually was), and trying to steal his crackle when he wasn't looking.

The biggest pork knuckle I have ever seen! Plenty of crackling. I could only finish half of it. Other items on the menu include schnitzel, beef roulade, dumplings, sausages and sauerkraut. Wait staff are dressed in the traditional German outfits adding a nice touch to the cosy restaurant. I would definitely go back and try their other dishes or reattempt the pork knuckle!

People only seem to come here for beer and pork knuckle. You can share a knuckle between two, but even skinny Aussie girls were having a whole one to themselves.
