Review Chez Kimchi - Canberra

First time Korean BBQ with our two young kids, they enjoyed the experience. Love it that they cooked for us, it's hard otherwise to eat together with 2 young kiddies. Super recommend the steam egg, best I have had and yummy side dishes, get refills of your favourite ;) Great experience!

I’m a Korean, and it was my first time to eat Korean chicken after arriving in Australia. To be honest, before eating the chicken, I was doubtful about the taste of chicken as it will be a bit different from the real Korean chicken taste. However, it had 100% the same taste compared to real Korean chicken. It was really delicious. I strongly recommend you guys to try eating Korean chicken. With a wonderful memory, next time, I will have some other foods.

Food was good! But you will need to wait abit of time. Reception staff was rude and not helpful when asked when the last dish going to come (becoz others guess already finished their meal but mine still not show) Good flavor, if the staff can give it a good training would be great! And also please turn on the Airconditioners in the room !!!!!! Is very frowsty in that private room.

The moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by professional and well mannered people and ushered me to my table. The place has the best cuisines where I was served promptly and it’s so good that even you will starting booking for days. I would recommend this restaurant at ease : )

When I discovered the Van Gogh Alive taking placing in Canberra, thought how awesome it would be to spend a weekend with my dear friends after forever long lockdowns. I do not come down to Canberra very often as Sydney has everything you could look for. Especially finding good Korean restaurant is not very easy these days and I only saw the sign of Kimchi which I thought interesting, when I got closer, I saw the full name 항아리김치, how cute is this?? When I saw the name of the restaurant, I was able to picture that grey hair of master chef getting some of homemade chili paste out of big ceramic pot in their own backyard somewhere country side in Korea. Well, the owner of the restaurant seems to be quite young and I am quite mesmerised how she is able to maintain the restaurant so tidy and manage numerous customers with big smiles. Once seated, fairly quick delivery of foods, lovely gourmet meats(wow.. so yummy) and happy faces shown at the table next to me. These show why they are super popular and people queued up to be served. Location wise, quality of food wise and price wise, this restaurant hits the top of the list. I am so satisfied with this beautiful dinner unexpectedly that made me forget any of Korean restaurants instantly in Sydney. Petite size of display of Korean musical instruments was bonus. Very proud to see they are doing so well with dignity and pride and I suppose this is how Korean restaurant should be. I don't know when I return back to Canberra in the near future but I will come back to try other food for sure. Well done guys.

Food was delicious. The staffs were friendly and helpful. They were very considerate to squeeze bookings for 10 between their already busy and fully booked weekend which meant a lot to me(It was my birthday😊)

Korean BBQ done right. Great BBQ and very good hotpot. Have the wagyu if your budget extends that far, totally worth it. Looking forward to the next visit.
