Beautiful little Italian restaurant. Missing risotto from the menu but asides from that the meals were very high quality. The breads could be better. Service was excellent. I rate this restaurant 9/10.

Just popped in for a light meal of pizza. Well this was a really great place to go. The different varieties of pizza were amazing.
Loved the blue cheese and posuitto and the mushroom and posuitto.
The wine list had a lot of Italian type wines that went with the traditional style pizzas.

Went for my birthday dinner with my family, 8 people total. 6.30pm and didn’t get our food til after 8pm. We got two pizzas that arrived pre pastas. With two children and no mains for more then an hour wait is kinda frustrating. I would have scored less but the pizza was tasty. The pasta was not worth the wait. I was disappointed especially eating so late

Randomly stumbled across this pizzeria in Kingston. A bit of a wait as would be expected on a busy Saturday night but when food arrived it was sure to impress. Pizza base was soft, marinara sauce flavorful, and pasta with a chilli hit.

Average food but great staff.<br/><br/>Had dinner at La Capanna yesterday and wasn't impressed with the food. I did appreciate the affordability of Garlic bread and soft drinks.<br/><br/>Also wanna give a special shout out to the staff there. Really warm and super lovely!

Great pasta and pizza, although the pasta is a bit oily. Don't go when's crowded. The restaurant was only at 1/3 capacity on a Monday night and we've waited over 30mins for our food. The waiter said we've only waited 28 minutes so I guess she's pretty proud of that.

Good home style Italian food. Nice atmosphere. Good prices and service was good too. Had a relaxed feel but still provided a nice meal and drinks. Knowledgable and friendly wait staff which is rare in Canberra.

Great pepperoni pizza. Good fungi pasta. Excellent ham and pineapple pizza! Error with our order was expertly handled by the owner, she kept the food coming and was very engaging. Great dinner experience. Will definitely return.

I loved la Capanna since I was a kid. <br/>The food, service and place was amazing when Gino ran it. <br/>But last week the pizza dough was raw in the middle and the pasta was tasteless and undercooked. <br/>Gino's no longer there and everything has fallen by the wayside. <br/>It's such a shame as it was a Canberra institution. Now it's just another run of the mill italian joint.

Good Pizzas = a good experience. I have visited La Capanna many times and have never had a bad meal. As we normally order pizza with salad we don't expect fine dining but always leave feeling satisfied.<br/><br/>Gino and his staff make you feel very welcome.

If you are in the mood for a good old home style Italian meal in a casual dining environment you couldn't go wrong with La Capanna. Obviously the food or the experience wasn't anywhere on the same level as my favourite Italian restaurants in town Italian and Sons or Loading Zone but all the pasta dishes we tried hit the spot and they were well priced. I hear the pizzas are all the rave here so might have to report back on that in the not too distant future!
