Review Quan's Kitchen - Canberra

A decent yum cha in belco side, but could use a bit more flavour overall. The congee is alright, but the fried dough is overcooked. The siumai is properly cooked but lacked flavour. The sharks fin dumpling is a tad better but all I can taste is celery. The fried wonton and fried lobster were decent though. The highlight of the trip is the crispy prawn rice roll which is the best I've had. Though the skin is a bit thick, I like it that way. Would visit again for that.

Hope you like onion! The Mongolian Lamb pieces were nice but few and far between the amount of onion. One snow pea included. A complete rip off for the price paid. Go somewhere else.

My favourite place to eat Chinese in higgins. I've only ordered for takeaway, so I can't speak for the restaurant experience but briefly seeing the inside when picking up food, there are often several patrons and the decor is classy. The food is wonderful, and always on time.

Used to have great competitive prices for the takeaway packs but our pack c has gone up by $13. Way too much onion in dishes. They have missed a dish a couple of times but delivered this to our door. I question when i will visit again. Which is a shame cos they used to be more competitive on prices and have larger portions. This place looks as though it really has gone down hill a little over the last 6-12 months..so many bad reviews.

I was in town visiting my family and took them out to dinner for mother's day. I had very mixed feelings about this venue. The food was very tasty and reasonable value, but the service was rather poor. Even though we had a booking when we arrived we were left standing for at least 5 mins waiting to be seated while 2 staff at the desk had a conversation and completely ignored us. They never offered us drinks and we had to go to the reception to ask. The glasses they provided for our byo smelled of dirty tea towels. They short supplied us on one of our entrees and tried to charge us even though the waiter assured me the bill would reflect this. Perhaps they could consider rostering additional staff if they knew they would be challenged with providing good service.

Recently, I was very happy to have "rediscovered" Quan's Kitchen. This little suburban gem, tucked away in the Holt Kippax precinct, serves very high quality Chinese food from an extensive menu. My family and I will definitely be back.

Ordered take away tonight from Quans for the first time. Ughhh. The honey beef was not just dry it was burnt, i could smell it before I opened the container. The crispy skin chicken was dry as old boots the fried rice was passable but will never order again from quans kitchen in kippax 🤮

They do yum cha every day of the week for lunch except when they are closed! I've only been for the yum cha menus but really enjoyed what I had. The crispy prawn rice rolls are deeeelish! It's rare to find a place in Canberra that does yum cha during the week so I'm really happy that I"ve found it. It's in the suburbs and I'd says it's a bit of a hidden gem!

We went for yum Cha, slowest service I ever experienced. The lobster dumpling was not fresh ah all, 100% guaranteed that they didn't either use fresh ingredients or it has been siting there for a long time!!!! Would not go there ever again !!!

Good yum cha spot - feels cleaner and more inviting than some places I've been to. The dumplings were fairly well steamed and pretty consistent throughout the service. Portions were good, and food was nice and hot.

Very nice decor and setting. Quiet Thursday night. There was no background music which means the voices from the kitchen carries towards the waiting room. Food is quite average, cannot match the quality and flavour in Dickson.

I have walked past Quan's many times and thought that it was just another average Chinese restaurant. We decided to grab some takeaway from here and I was surprised at how nice it was inside. The food was delicious and we are so happy to find such a nice dining experience so close to home.

Why go to Dickson ?. Tucked away in the burbs with a myriad of mediocre restaurants you'd expect the usual run of the mill Australianised "Chinese"..but you'd be wrong ! Shantung Duck crispy and melt on the mouth, eggplant stuffed with prawn meat, sesame prawn spring rolls (I may never eat a regular spring roll again in my life). The restaurant is full, the service is awesome - go here now !

Lovely regular haunt and good for those weird gluten-free people. We had an awful experience at our usual Chinese take-away, and stumbled across this one by fluke. Best outcome possible. The staff are always lovely, the restaurant itself is beautifully kept and enjoyable to eat at. Best of all, the food is wonderful. They have a lot of gluten-free options, which is surprising and really wonderful, as there's nothing worse than being restricted to one option.

We've eaten here a lot of times, take-away an in-house and have yet to find anything to complain about. Will keep going back.

Great suburban restaurant that is well priced. Great hot rock salt prawns. Hot rock salt squid use to be nice, last few times has been over cooked & chewy but still has good flavour. Had the duck pancakes & they were very flavoursome, crispy skin, rendered fat & a good piece of meat. One suggestion, just julienne your spring onions for duck pancakes, not just cut off whole pieces. Steak honey black pepper is great. They even do yum cha, haven't tried, but will be today, hopefully it's just as pleasant. Good value for money
