Review Gami Chicken & Beer - Canberra

The restaurant has been updated the menu (extra bonus is free meal for kids). The boneless chicken was delicious with beer. Friendly service and very quick. It was super busy when we left so be prepared to wait if you don't have a booking.

Ordered Big Chicken ($68), waited for ages. Fried chicken were so dry and over cooked… chips, rice cakes and cheese sticks were nothing special. If you would like to enjoy fried chicken, totally not a place to go to.

Quick & easy Very oily We ordered the Katsu - much sweeter stickier version of this, curry flavour not really there Kids menu was ok but no bathrooms made it more challenging if you had to be there as a single adult with kids

I am vegan… and this place was so accommodating to my dietary requirements. I’m not entirely sure if what I ate was vegan, but the vegetarian option was absolutely delightful. If you want to break your veganism for one night this is the place to do it!!! Empty plate for evidence.

Delicious crunchy Korean fried chicken! We ordered boneless original with spicy and garlic soy sauce. The chicken tastes so good. What’s also great is the place is kids friendly. Also, spacious enough for us to fit our youngest’s stroller and friendly customer service.

We used to come here all the time, decided to give it a go again after a while but seriously, what happened to this place? We waited 30 minutes for half of our order of chicken, and it was freezing the whole way through! It was cooked for sure, but somehow was colder than room temperature. The staff were lovely when we sent it back (and the only redeeming feature of the night) but after another 20 mins we finally got our full order and again, half the chicken was ice-cold and had a weird chlorine taste. Honestly we were impressed by how it had happened, one piece would be perfectly warm and tasty, but the very next one over must’ve been left outside overnight. Some were even half-warm and half-cold, a real song of ice and fire. In sum, staff lovely, food awful, go literally anywhere else for better Korean food.

As I lived in Melbourne. Gami is familiar with Melbourians. I was happy when I saw. I expected taste similar like in melbourne. I ordered boneless original chicken and spicy seafood soup. Original chicken was way too far crispy and oily(weird at same time) and spicy soup was not spicy at all. It was too sweet instead spicy. Even honey mustard sauce for dip was tasteless. Rice was dried too. Good thing was friendly customer service and warm welcoming.

We visited this restaurant twice and their food has been improved a lot during this time. They newly released a list of lunch special combo which was great. They also offered smaller size of fried chicken (suitable for one/two people). Their signature corn cheese and potato heaven are highly recommended!

Found Gami on our trip to Canberra. Ordered the original chicken with sauce on the side. The chicken was nice, I like the shredded cabbages and pickled radishes but they came in such humble servings. The baked potato was fattening and creamy, just how I remembered it at the other Gami branch. Kimchi fried rice was alright.

Service included a mixture of attentive and distracted staff, despite the restaurant not being busy at all. The waitress took our orders forgot to bring us water and one of our order. Luckily we asked, otherwise would be waiting for ages.

Food and service was average. Seating arrangement is good. We had 3 waiters ask us if we had ordered even after we had ordered with the first. God the boneless chicken with chilli sauce. Would have preferred to get the sause on the side
