Review Hero Sushi - Canberra

Elizabeth Munro-Ginn
The best in the Westfield centre in my opinion. Even though the rice is sometimes a bit dry, the fish is great and always fresh, and the price is right. I always go for the salmon box which is delicious. I don't recommend the miso soup though, it's pretty bland.

The sushi at this place is badly made and inconsistent in flavour. It falls apart, the filling doesn't go all the way through the rolls (as in, avocado at one end, but none at the other) and just looks sloppy, which is not what I expect from Japanese food at all. Their 'spicy' options are also spicy one day and bland the next. One of my least favourite sushi places in Canberra but not many other options available in Woden.

The spicy pork was so good, now not good. Changed sauce and not so good. There was. Stage it was amazing, good sizes and sauce, but not now. I ordered a larger size and it was the size of a medium. Very much annoyed and not happy. You guys need to be a little more professional, stop the childish behaviour when customers are there and CLEAN the tables! I'll miss the good times, but everything has to come to an end 😩

The food is delicious but unfortunately there are a lot of grubby people that come eat here, leaving filthy messes behind on the tables. I often have to clean my table of the mess before I can sit down and eat... It would be great if people weren't so inconsiderate and rank, but this isn't the case and shouldn't be left up to the next customer to clean up. Staff should be cleaning the tables, and that is the only downfall of Hero Sushi Woden.

Gave me food poisoning. Very unimpressed. Been to your other restaurants around Canberra and I've been fine in fact I love the others. But the Woden store has really upset my body. And I know it was this restaurant because I stick to a pretty strict diet and decided to have a fun day and the only change in my usual food was sushi. And now I'm suffering. Never going there again.

Sushi is not bad - i like their salmon avo rolls. Had the pork ramen which wasn't anything to write home about though - noodles were slightly undercooked and pork slices were the thinly sliced ones usually used for hot pot.

Gave me horrific food poisoning with tempura prawn sushi. Must have been days old. I have had watery diarrhea and been throwing up for 6 hours so far. Don't risk giving this to children. Never eating here - not ever.

the rainbow roll here is absolutely delicious. was very suprised at how fresh everything tasted. I also asked for a baby avocado to be made and staff were very helpful

A solid sushi train although the selection was nothing to write home about. The people next to us appeared to have never eaten before which was disconcerting. Very reasonably priced.

Hero Sushi is always a great option for a light sushi dinner, the venue is definitely weird and wonderful, boasting both interesting flavours that again adds to the experience.

All of the staff are friendly and they know all there is to know about their sushi, it's definitely worth the visit. Come here on a Friday evening for their awesome discounted sushi, you'll stack a mountain of plates without breaking the budget.

Best vego sushi around, especially the mini avocado. I can't stomach raw fish, so can't comment on that.

There are always a lot of people waiting to get take-away lunch here, and the service is speedy, so they don't wait long. Local office workers have no need to go all the way to the food court when a healthy, tasty option is just inside the Corinna Street entrance. Eat-in is not such a good option.

Absolute best of the quick sushi locations in Canberra. We visit Hero Sushi once a week and are never disappointed. Clean, fresh and delicious with a great variety of flavours. Personally, I never like to order non-seafood sushi but I make an exception here: their Spicy Pork on black rice is wonderful. Love the different styles of rice. Tempura prawn, terriyaki salmon and grilled scallop are our favourites. Service is always fast and friendly.

The absolute best sushi I have ever tasted! They have brown sushi- Yay! But their real standout is all the grilled range especially their scallops! Their deluxe pack is sensational!

Awesome. I love love love Hero Sushi. Was so excited to see one open in Woden (we used to drive all the way to Tuggeranong for Hero Sushi). It is super fresh and really delicious. Friendly and efficient staff makes it a winner.

Tasty fresh sushi. I was excited to try this new sushi store in Woden. Located in an odd spot - next door to Price Attack near Coles/Woolies area, the shop has a nice open seating area and you can see the sushi chef slicing up fresh raw salmon. The smoked sushi roll has the sushi and avocado on the outside, and is stuffed with cubes of cottage cheese and lettuce - delicious combination! Sushi rolls abre about $3.50 and thicker in size than most other places. There's also a range of other delicacies such as fried scallop, grilled scallop, tempura, spicy crab and prawn from $2-$3. Plenty of people to serve you during the busy lunchtime rush. Will definitely be going back.

Apart from the various sushi rolls available, there's a range of other delicacies in the second glass cabinet display such as fried scallop, grilled scallop, tempura, spicy crab and prawn. The fried scallop ($2.00) was just so cute that I had to try it.
