It’s Cremorne week on my food blog! Just by chance really: one night at Taronga zoo and the next at a movie at the amazing Cremorne Orpheum, and needing a meal both evenings. Dai’s Golden Crown is a humble and simple little place, serving up Chinese and Malaysian food. We had deep-fried wonton to start with, as well as san choi boy. Our mains were some delicious mussels in black bean and chili sauce and steamed duck in crab sauce. After our meal, I thought: simple, basic Chinese food, tasty with no surprises. But in fact with a little reflection, the quality of the dishes was high. This was a very tasty meal, and at less than $80 for two of us, each with a glass of wine, a reasonably priced one (we got a further discount with my Entertainment card).
Great Prawns. A great little find. Recommend the honey prawns! Yum Yum Yum
Good food, Rachel is very friendly and informative. I recommend to dine instead of take away. I really enjoy the oriental ambience. The cream seafood soup is perfectly cook, my favourite is the seafood cream soup, mee goreng (taste very authentic), and the mongolian beef.
Have been dine in here for the last 20 years. Best chicken oil rice, still my family's favour dish
Beautiful meal, good service. I recommend the prawns here - we had the prawn laksa as well as the salt and pepper prawns. Both dishes were delicious, evidently made with very fresh large prawns. We also enjoyed the deep fried ice cream at the end as a throwback to our childhood.
It is a Chinese restaurant with a nostalgic feel to it, as if you have entered a time warp 20 years ago with some dated decor. This atmosphere makes it all the more authentic and true to style, it serves tasty authentic Chinese cuisine.
One of the best chinese option in Cremorne / Mosman area. They deliver from menulog as well. Ingredient taste fresh and also cooking technique is perfect. Also the pricing is reasonable for the area. Highly recommend to anyone in the area and craving chinese food.
