A little shop tugged at a cosy corner serving great Japanese delights! Food is tasty and fresh. Dessert was superb! I thought the green tea ice cream was good but the sesame ice cream tasted even better! Still feeling the lingering effect of the delightful creamy sesame flavor!
Always fresh, lovely presentation, courteous staff and reasonably priced. Authentic Japanese cuisine at family affordability price.
Very fresh and well prepared using quality ingredients. Sure, it’s only a simple little place and charges a bit more than competitors, but the quality of the food was top notch. Mixed tempura included 2 prawns and 2 pieces of salmon along with some vegetables, and was slightly expensive at $24.50 (perhaps this is because it’s only on the dinner menu). The chicken katsu bento box was delicious and larger than others I’ve had in Melbourne. The chicken katsu was succulent and juicy and the 2 beef meatballs that came with it were divine. Would definitely return! This is a place that seemed to employ all Japanese staff too and that showed in the quality and efficiency. A nice change over all those Chinese run ‘Japanese’ restaurants.
Ordered the unagi Don and chicken katsu curry via doordash. Chicken katsu was extremely tasty and perfectly fried. Curry sauce served separately to prevent sogginess. Great meal, but a little bit more expensive than your average Japanese.
Came here for dinner recently and we ordered the beef ribs and miku ramen.
The location was easily accessible and parking behind the complex was easy to find.
The restaurant was cozy and very homely. As soon as we entered, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and their service will definitely bring us back for more. Food was brought to the table quickly. They did get our order wrong, but changed and replaced it free of charge and were very apologetic for it.
The food tasted good, and portion sizes were good. The beef ribs were something to rave about!
Overall, a good experience - 3.5/5, will be back! 😸
The bento boxes at Miku are fabulous. I like the variety. We ordered the Salmon bento and the crumbed chicken bento and they both came with different sides which was nice. The honey glazed meatballs that came with the chicken bento were really tasty. I also liked the silky egg custard that came with the salmon bento. What I didn't like were the drinks. We ordered a black sesame latte and a matcha latte. They were both served in very tall cups but 75% of it was milk foam. The actual drink itself was probably a quarter the cup and lukewarm at most. For $4, I could get a decent small coffee not a 1/4 cup full + 3/4 foam. Apart from the drinks which are a major rip off, food is great! Instagram @flabnbone_food
I like everything bout this place, from the food to the excellent service. Eventhough they are busy, they still provide excellent service!
We ordered the set lunch, & we love it.
xx 💚
Had the Teriyaki Beef Rib Bento Box. Beef was nice and tender, and came sliding off the bone. Other accompaniments were also tasty. Finished off with 2 scoops of ice cream (Matcha and Black Sesame). Good dining experience in a friendly environment.
4.5 star ⭐️ Really quite enjoyed the lunch bentos from Miku. I had the”SSB”- those in the know would know that’s Sushi Sashimi Bento 🍱. The fish is so fresh! The only little imperfection is that the rice under the nigiri falls apart a bit too easily and some are smaller than the other.
Kiddos shared a salmon bento and some sushi and it was delicious. The salmon is cooked to perfection and the portions were huge!
The lady (I think she is one of the owners?) kindly told us we may have ordering too much before she put in the order to make sure we didn’t get too much food as well. That kind of customer service I like!
Fresh sushi and sashimi bentou. Thank you.
Excellent food, kid friendly seating.
Nice authentic japanese retaurant in doncaster east. Worth a try!
Good Japanese restaurant in Doncaster. We got the sashimi 15 piece combination and unagi gozen for two people and we were satisfied. The sashimi was fresh and the cuts were quite thick which is quite different to other Japanese restaurants. Our preference would be thin cuts but they were delicious nonetheless. The unagi was good too, especially the cawamushi side dish. Staff were friendly and the place is a little tight and we barely fit our pram. Good place to try Japanese food.
Great chiraishi and unagi bentos!! Fresh fish and delicious chawanmushi and sides! Wonderful atmosphere - we went on a Sunday and the owner was doing a great job managing multiple requests and takeaway orders, while being absolutely professional :) Clearly well known in the neighbourhood, she knows most of the customers by name. Definitely would come back again. Also don’t forget the freshly made strawberry and durian daifukus!!
Extraordinary customer service! Great food quality, portion size, but price might be slightly steep. Will return again!
Good fresh, price a bit high but maybe not because a bowl or plate of carbs from most other places can be 1.8 times the price of 5 years ago, but you get what you paid for here. Will come again. Very good ☺️
King fish (from Japan, Tasmania and local grades) are super fresh and delicious.
Soft shell crab rolls are to die for.
Spicy fish roe creamy Udon is a must to try when you visit there.
Absolutely a good place to enjoy Japanese foods. There is omakase on the menu, so let the chef do it for you. Tempura is a must to order, the quality is as close as Kenzan fine dining in Melbourne city. Will definitely come back
Newly update:
Come back again for Omakase. You won't believe chef kept special ingredients which direct imported from Japan fish market. The otoro (Tuna Belly) is absolutely as close as Tokyo izakaya standard, so fresh and melted in your mouth. If you are sake lover, you must order Mokkiri (pour sake overflow to masu).
