If you are looking for THE BEST CHAI ever look no further!!! Made fresh in front of me (and served so perfectly) by the cafe owner who was the most lovely lady!! Go and "chai" it .... you won't be disappointed!
Come here for the Niravan Chai, nothing like you have ever tried before. Amazing flavours and great presentation. I know my Indian chai and this is the best in Melbourne and easily comparable with the quality available in Indian. The owner is lovely and personable. I would rate this place a 5 just for the chai.
Good food options but I bit of a miss. I tried the lamb bagel not very impressed but could be better with some improvements.
The delightful and friendly new owner is always very welcoming. This morning she recommended the Nirvana Chai. It was presented beautifully and turned out to be the best chai in Melbourne, with an amazing combination of delicious spices.
No wonder there are a lot of regulars and more people are discovering this interesting cafe just off Glenhuntly Road, almost opposite Officeworks, Elsternwick.
Go for the Nirvana Chai .....
Elsternwick is always a quirky suburb to go for my foodie experience; a blend of the old & the new world, plethora of Jewish bakeries, funky cafes, the people and just loaded with diversity.
This cafe is no different, modern but a little bit "worn" and a new operator in charge.
Food wise, brunch menu was enjoyable, above average and Latte was just average too (St Ali coffee beans?), however their Nirvana Chai made the 1 hour drive worthwhile ..... got to have it there, presentation, taste ..... and yes, we did visit a local Jewish bakery after, the joy of double dipping....... :-) on your day off.
All the very best to the new "lovely" and attentive operator ...... JT-25/07/2017.
Awesome all day brunch: put the Punjabi Chai (authentic family recipe) made with green cardamom, cloves and ginger on your bucket list! Generous serves and beautiful ingredients. We will be back!
Cosy cafe with great coffee and excellent customer service. Ideal place for weekend relaxation. I've been there few times and very satisfied.
Went there for breakfast this morning. Thought we will give it a go as it is now under new management. We were not disappointed. The big breakfast and sourdough with crispy bacon were very good and we had the best Chai Latte in town. Will definitely go back there again.
I went to Pound today to get a chai to take away, but the lovely owner convinced me to have it there, due to the way they serve it. I'm glad she did-it was delightful. A real chai made with cardamom, ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Would like to come back to try the food-lots of variety on the menu.
Really nice and well presented food.
After just one visit I'm quite conceived the 1 star reviewers below..all with new accounts...are fake reviewers written likely by nearby competitors.
Same fake reviews on Google.
The chips were amazing. Burger very good indeed.
I saw the mashed avo and it looked better than any id seen before.
Have no concerns in trying this cafe and shame pin those competitors writing the fake reviews below.
Dined today and after eating i was surprised this place was near empty. Food was incredible and portions very large. Coffee was also incredible. Good honest place a little bit off the beat and track in elsternwick. We will be back :)
