This place is beautiful! Every details is brilliant. In love with the staff. The waiter who served us was great and attentive to our needs. We hd the set menu. Food is super tasty and authentic. The ambient is great to chat.
There are many restaurants along busy Enmore road but it's not difficult to notice this new little gem. At night you won't walk past without turning your head to look inside as the large floor to ceiling glass glows in the warm light provided by a Turkish style chandelier. Once you turn your head, you will notice the contrast of stripped back walls, beautifully hand carved wooden tables, a striking gold tinged original coffee machine glistening at the back, beautiful Turkish tea pots and cups & the colourful, vibrant dishes that everyone seems to be enjoying. As you walk inside, you are tantalised by familiar smells with a hint of exoticness & as your mouth begin to salivate, you are greeted by a soft, gentle, smiling staff. As you sit & peruse the menu - designed to share with a strong focus on vegetables, you will find it difficult to decide amongst so many delicious sounding items. You can always start with some house made dips with soft chewy Turkish bread as you continue to peruse. The hummus is thick & I love the generousity of the tahini. The carrot dip is sweet but has a tang to it from lemon juice & creamy. And you can ask for extra bread but don't fill up on that! Halloumi is always a must & is delicious here as is the sigara boreki with its flaky pastry & light cheesy filling. The vine leaves are one of the better ones I have had & the pastirma patlican, a large, more substantial dish is a must. Smokey eggplant, a medley of vegetables, string halloumi & that pastirma - just delicious. Moving on to the main/substantial dishes you can't go past the tender chicken stuffed with Meditteranean style rice & vegetables or the lamb shank which falls off the bone as you dig your fork in. All the dishes retain its traditional Turkish flavours & foundation characters but is all made with a much lighter hand & presented in a more modern manner. Do not leave without having a kunefe or carrot baklava. The kunefe being the standout & not overly sweet or heavy. Each one is made as is ordered & is beautifully scented with orange & studded with crunchy pistachio. The Turkish coffee is well made & strong. There is a succinct and very well priced wine list as well as non alcoholic beverages and its also byo. Service is warm, gentle & as if your in someone's home. With such beautiful space, food & service, it is a must go. I cannot wait to return for the Turkish style brunch on weekends!
Came here on a Saturday night and managed to get a walk in table for 2 at about 6.45. Quickly filled up afterwards! Delicious food and well presented, left very full. Reasonable price.
