Friendly service here and my strong skinny latte was good.

But the highlight for me was the carrot cake which was moist and creamy and just perfect.

The poor barista appeared to be working alone and he forgot my cake, which was unfortunate and the waiting times were long.

But I'd definitely go back when I had more time.

Came here on a referral from a friend who lives in the area but she warned me that it's not a small quiet place which is what I like but said the food was good.
I ordered the eggs benedict on roti - OMG delicous. The iced latte strong and tasty. The juice my friend ordered was excellent.
They roast their own coffee on site and you can watch the dude at work. Seating is at a variety of high tables, high benches, little booths, tables and more - stretches right out to the back. It's very crowded at 11am. Very much a hispter place but there was the odd couple of us over 50.
Certainly worth a try.
$68 for 4 of us. Not bad.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. High chairs available. Parking not too bad out front but there is a time limit.
Toilets are unisex eg neither mens or womens and very clean.

This is a great Fitzroy cafe in the heart of this suburb. As soon as I walked I noticed how spacious it was inside, it is very well decorated and inviting.

We all started off with some coffees; soy latte, skinny flat white and long black. Really enjoyed the flavour of the coffee that we all had another cup. I also couldn’t resist trying one of their smoothies. I had the peanut butter and banana flavour which was nicely rich and sweet.

We ordered three different dishes; buttermilk hotcake, pea and ricotta fritter, and smashed avocado toast. The hotcake was very soft, not overly sweet and nicely topped with grilled banana and berries. The fritters were very light, tasty and accompanied by two poached eggs and crispy prosciutto which was the ideal addition to the dish. The smashed avocado was also delicious and had a different topping of crispy cauliflower which was very yummy.

Definitely keen to come back to this cafe to try many of their other dishes!

The young guy (Steve?) had fantastic hospitality skills and we watched him greet and chat with several other regulars who clearly loved the service! he was great and a valuable asset to that business as was the great waitress who looked after everyone almost single-handedly. The great food was a bonus on top of our experience at this non-cliquey venue that welcomed all
from the ‘fill my keep cup’ folk on route to work to large groups with young families. Highly recommended

Sir Charles is a cool, modern cafe located in Fitzroy. Their staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Sharon who looked after us!
For drinks we had the Strawberry Crush smoothie and an iced almond latte. The coffee was really nice, and the smoothie was very refreshing.
We also ordered the wild party, the smash, and the pink lady waffle. All dishes were delicious, with large portions.

All in all, an amazing feed with excellent service, and a great vibe! 😊

Coming to food - it was just mind blowing including the smoothies.
We ordered -
1. Golden smoothie with mango & passion fruit and strawberry crush - both of which were just amazingly good.
2. Prawn toast with fried egg 🍳- which had the asian twist to it.
3. The smash - avocado smash with eggs 🥚 which had plentiful of smashed avocado 🥑
4. Wild party - roasted mushrooms, poached eggs and sourdough bread 🍞

I absolutely adored this cafe! I visited with the lovely @un , and we had a delicious brunch full of unique & Asian inspired cafe dishes

A contemporary, open aired space full. I loved the touches of hand written menus & abundance of plants which brought unique character to the space!

The smoothies tasted very fresh. I loved the richness of the cacao in the PB & Banana smoothie!

The food was impeccable. My favourite dish was the pink lady waffle, which was so sweet, with some added crunch & fresh fruit to top! I also loved the prawn toast, which was crispy, salty & topped with a perfectly fried egg that was also oozy.

Amazing staff, who are very kind & welcoming. We got some great menu recommendations from them.

Sir Charles' spring menu is one not to be missed. With an impressive selection of naughty and nice dishes, every taste bud would be catered for here.

We started of with coffees and as usual, they did not disappoint. Strong and smooth brew, and with a creamy mouthfeel. The smoothies are just as impressive - beautiful flavours and just the right thickness in consistency.

We tried a few dishes and the pink lady waffles and prawn toast were my favourites. The waffles had the perfect soft and fluffy texture, and the baklava crumble and kataifi pastry added an element of texture to the dish. The tartness from the fruits offset the sweetness of the syrup and fairly floss, making this a dish that was very well-balanced in flavours.

The prawn toast was similar to those you can get at yum cha but this was much more superior. Thick slice of toast that was both soft yet crisped, juicy prawns and the most delicious nam jim sauce.

The salmon egg benny and chilli scrambled were delicious too, and I couldn't fault the execution and flavours of both dishes. The saltiness of the haloumi and sweetness of the currants lent flavours to the otherwise very healthy white forest salad, a dish that was clean eating goals.

A very enjoyable meal and the prawn toast has to be one of my most memorable cafe dishes of the year. Thank you for having me.

After visiting this cafe a few years back I was very excited to visit Sir Charles for the second time.

All dishes are heavily inspired by Asian infused flavours and ingredients.

I really enjoyed the large warehouse space inside. Light bounced through the glass windows illuminating the timber seating and vast array of scattered green plants. This cafe has numerous seating options from small benches to large rectangular tables for bigger groups.

The coffee was delicious, as it is roasted on site. Cocktails and numerous coloured smoothies and juices are also on offer.

Dishes which I tried:

1) Salmon Benedict
2) Charles Garden
3) OMG Pancakes
4) Chicken Waffles

My favourite item would be the OMG Pancakes. This is the perfect dish for sweet- tooth’s. The pancake is light and fluffy in texture. The backlava crumble, rose water syrup and kataifi pastry work in unison with the other dish elements to create a magical dish.

Sir Charles does not allow split bills.

Booking however can be made for groups more than six, using their online booking system.

Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Invited to try the Spring menu, Sir Charles offers creative and tasty dishes in a spacious bustling cafe. We tried the following; salmon egg bennie, chilli scramble, white forest, prawn toast and pink lady waffles. Everything was outstanding, a couple of my favourites were the prawn toast which is a million times better than what you get at yum cha. Think thick crispy toast with actual prawns, fried eggs and apple salad. The chilli scramble was flavoursome and the eggs were scrambled to perfection.
Overall you can't go wrong with whatever you chose from the menu. Would recommend!

Only tried their Sir Charles Blend Coffee. It's a smooth taste. There's no bitter aftertaste. The place looks awesome. Would love to be back for their food. Servers were polite and quick to ask us if we needed anything.

Great selection of deserts. They have had to raise prices due ti increased costs. Also 10% surcharge on weekends. Key lime pie great.

Really friendly staff, very accommodating to our group of six. Timely service. Great food and unique menu. First time I’ve tried a Hoji-cha latte and it was lovely. Would come here again to try something different.

I had the Sir Charles benedict which consisted of Panko Crumbed Eggs with Sriracha Hollandaise, Bacon, Fresh Chilli roti is the menu option but i opted for sourdough food was really nice, the coffee and juice where also nice and fresh. The venue is well set out and the staff are friendly in typical Fitzroy fashion parking is a pain but that's nothing against the Cafe. Will return and recommend

The waiting time is insane when busy hours. However, it turns out to be worthy. Food and busk cheese cakes are delicious. The potion and the coffee is mediocre though.

Sir Charles benediction was good and also the chicken potpie, but don’t try the potato gems, its not worth to try cause the size and price $10 for that small hash brown.

I never review places online. But this was very sweet so I feel it should be recognized. I’m currently in quarantine - so I was confined to order in today. I placed an order on uber eats. Waited about an hour and a half for the delivery guy who eventually cancelled after picking it up. I replaced the order and the next one went through (bit delayed again because Uber was having issues finding a delivery person again). Well, the food eventually got here. It was fantastic as usual. But the staff also must’ve noticed the excessive wait I had with Uber issues, because they wrote a cute note and threw in some extra free stuff just to be nice!! Very much so appreciated :) Thank you all. Happy new year!

Service was fast, and staff were very professional and very friendly, especially our waiter. Food was amazing and so were the coffees. The key lime pie was also perfect, and it was house made. The interior is also very welcoming and tidy. You can tell the staff actually care about their job. no complaints overall, perfect experience!
