The best place to get gluten free fish and chips in the inner north and near the city! Delicious but relatively simple menu with lots of gluten free options. If you get a standard combo make sure to order a few pieces of gf calamari as they are amazing. I love that you can order 1 or 2 as well instead of a whole set. The blue grenadier is not too bad but I prefer the barramundi. Both the sweet potato and slaw salads are good. We have introduced so many people to this place.
One of the best places to get healthier fish dishes š in the Fitzroy area. Great for takeaway or dine-in. It also has a chilled beer garden out of the back to kick back and relax!

A fish and chip shop that isnāt greasy and doesnāt stink of oil and old chips! Tasty calamari and great salad options! Have been here several times and had never failed to disappoint!
Best sweet potato wedges ever!! Great value options, such as the Monday barramundi special. Fish was well cooked, tasted fresh, was of generous size & flavorsome. Good option for salads too. Recommend for a quick weeknight meal & doesn't break the bank. Plenty of lovely options
Quality fish and chips with friendly service and great value for money. For $30 for two people it felt like we were served up a feast! Al very fresh and tasty. A really enjoyable meal.
Excellent food, excellent gluten free options and a dedicated gf fryer too. Love the lunch specials, they are an absolute bargain. I come here regularly for the fish, chips and the Asian coleslaw. Service is friendly. Meals are usually quickly served during the day, though at night time you can be in for a bit of a wait due to excessive numbers of foodora, uber eats, deliveroo and other takeaway orders... I feel that they might need to add more people in the kitchen to accommodate this and not put off other customers! Food is always fresh, generous, crisply battered and the Asian slaw is a taste sensation. Delicious!
Consistently good quality fish and chips with a beautifully balanced Asianslaw. The specials, Barramundi Monday in particular, give great value and ensure repeat business on a regular basis.
Crispy chips and the fish burger was pretty tasty too- one of the better ones I've had, made fresh. We sat outside in the courtyard which was nicely set out in the garden. Also had a fish + veg once and couldn't complain. Good food, good value.
This little place serves up some really nice fish & chips. I ordered 'British Fish & Chips', with a Coopers Pale Ale. My fish was battered/fried perfectly, and chips were crunchy too. Not really too fussed/keen on smashed minted peas, but thought I'd give it a go.
Iāve gotta admit that for a chain, Hooked is pretty good. Theyāre reasonably priced, relatively fresh and healthy and offer a lot of variety. I most recently tried the British style combo with grilled fish, mushy peas and chips (subbed for sweet potato for just a few bucks more). It was absolutely delicious and very filling. Iād gladly get it again.
Best fish and chips I've had for a long time. Everything was just cooked perfectly for my taste. Not an easy task given the variety in a single meal: two varieties of fish, scallop, prawn, dimsum, calamari potato cake and chips. All just lovely. Biggest whole scallop I've seen in fast food in years.
Overall a good experience. Decent shortlist of fish types showing its seriousness. On a more recent trip the fish was a little soaked with oil and the chips were a little dry. 3.5 stars
We had the Lunchdeal of $10,95 and chose the fish and chips with a salad. Also it is apparently normal to serve free tap water in Australia :) the salad and fish tasted fresh, good chips and nice atmosphere. Would recommend it!
Great true value restaurant. The service is so friendly and the food is large portioned for the price. The lunch is especially good value with their $10 specials.
Cannot recommend enough! Really nice staff, food was fresh and warm, even after 10 min walk home. One of the best fish n chips Iāve ever had in Australia! Will be back again.
I love the way you cook the fish. We canāt get to our favourite fish and chip shop thru lockdown as itās outside our 5kms. But happy now we tried Hooked as itās tasty too, will be coming back
