I love Vietnamese food and this place uses the freshest ingredients and cooks it perfectly, whether it be simple rolls, a pho or something for a special meal with friends and family.
This is a small, friendly place. Many customers are regulars, as I am.
I love this place. Excellent service, friendly staff, awesome food. I aim to try a different dish each visit but always gravitate toward my favourites. Salt pepper squid, lemongrass chilli beef and the fried rice. Very tasty food at reasonable prices. My go to joint when I'm hanging for Vietnamese A++++

One of our favourite Vietnamese restaurants in Footscray. We really like the banh hoi (chewy vermicelli noodle) with grilled pork. The bahn xeo or Vietnamese pancake is really good too. The portion is massive and price is affordable. Definitely recommend this place.
Unexpectedly delicious, unassuming little restaurant. The betel leaf beef (beef vine leaves) and hot and sour soup were delicious. Very well priced and lots of interesting menu items. Service was also attentive and friendly. Will be back.
Viet Kitchen serves authentic Vietnamese dishes. The food was so fresh and delish. Must try their spring rolls.
Good value for money and great service. Such an amazing staff
My score 4.0 stars. J and I had dinner here with a couple of old friends on Sun 13th Oct.
EntrĂ©es: Hot and sour veggie soup (about $5) – Only dish not shared, was liked by orderer. The rest of us tasted it and thought it was ok, but maybe too many chunky veg?Â
Prawn spring rolls (about $9 for 8) – Were nice, but not outstanding. Came with nice herbs, ok sweet chilli sauce – the lettuce cups were useless after the top 2 (couldn't prise them apart).
Beef in betel leaves (about $9 for 7?) – Ditto lettuce & sauce as spring rolls. Came with vermicelli, herbs, carrot, cabbage. J didn't try them but everyone else loved them!
Pan fried Pork dumplings (about $9 for 6) – Nice salady accompaniments, GREAT dipping sauce (pre-made soy chilli vinegar). Most thought they were ok, but I liked them even more (maybe cause they were a meaty treat for me).
Pan fried Prawn dumplings (about $9 for 6) – Similar accompaniments to pork, but everyone really loved these!
Mains:Â Seafood fried rice (about $13) - Yummy charry egg. Very good, J liked it especially.Â
Calamari and veg w lemongrass and chilli (about $19) – More exotic than just L & C (had extra flavours). Moderately spicy, very tasty calmari. A crowd pleaser.
Fish fillets w ginger and shallots (about $18) – Came on a seriously sizzling plate! Very nice, enjoyed by all.
Service was really good, interior/setting was fine. Total bill for a lot of food (for 4) was about $90. Less busy and noisy than Sapa Hills (so better for conversation) – worth a re-visit...
Ive been here too many times to count. It is an experience I will keep coming back to. My favourite dishes are the dry wonton and pork/ chicken soup and the crispy skin chicken udon noodle soup. ( I love soup, can you tell? ). They have the best clear soup base I have ever had.
The food was great , value for money and the service was very good. They were pretty quick as well and accommodated my request for extra sauces and spices which made the dish super nice and spicy on a cold winter night. The Vietnamese ice coffee was really nice too. Will visit again for sure and recommend it for a fresh Vietnamese meal. #valueformoney #spicygood
Amazing food and amazing service.
Definitely recommend.
I eat here regularly. It is one of the few places that doesn't skimp on the vegetables which are fresh and delicious. The food overall is very good value for money with big portion sizes and fantastic flavours. There are also plenty of GF, vegan, vegetarian and dairy free options. The staff are also very lovely.
An underrated place that needs more love!
A friend took me here for the banh xeo (vietnamese savoury pancake) a while back and decided to come back and try other dishes. We love a local restaurant as the food always seems more authentic.Â
Food:
Com Tam - This special broken rice dish is one of my all time favourite and viet kitchen has definitely hit the spot as a redemption of a mishap i've had at another place nearby a few days before. Was able to fulfil my fix on some GOOD com tam. The grilled pork was so tender and flavourful. I loved the whole plateÂ
Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork and Spring rolls: Another hit! Dish was so flavourful and delicious. The spring rolls were definitely cooked to order and the pork was tender. This dish is something you must try if you're ever visiting this place (:
Farm chicken coleslaw: PACKED with flavour, chicken was delicious and the salad definitely mixes well!!
Service: The service was the same and how you'd get from most local restaurants.Â
Overall, this place definitely do big portions for an affordable price. A place I would go to just to get a fix of some good vietnamese food
This is probably one of the most underrated places in Footscray/Melbourne. They never disappoint! The best pho I’ve ever tasted and last night I tried their soft shell crab soup for a change. One word - AMAZING! Even my husband who doesn’t like trying new dishes was impressed. A big bowl of soup and a soft shell crab all for $15!! You can never go wrong.
Absolutely delicious vermicelli noodle bowl! Pork & spring rolls were incredible, flavour was amazing. Will be getting again- thank you!
Superbly tasty, authentic food!! Service was quick, the staff were friendly and the place has a nice ambiance. (Not the typical white fluoro lighting like some places) Dishes were a good size and priced well. We went in a Tuesday night and they were busy so best to book. I’ll be craving their rare beef pho within a week for sure. A great find.
I hadn't tried this place til last night, I ordered the lemongrass chilli beef stir-fry and it was absolutely incredible. jam packed with spice and flavour, and ridiculously cheap as well. I will definitely be coming in to dine one day
Sitting in between Sapa Sister and Sapa Hills on Hopkins St, Footscray, is this authentic Vietnamese restaurant. We walked in to see the owners all sitting down having lunch at the table, and they quickly got up to happily seat us. I thought this was kinda cute. After looking through the menu we saw massive similarities to those next door restaurants, thinking maybe they were all owned by the same people? It was a cold, windy day so we opted for the soup. It was MASSIVE, and full of flavour, there was no way I could finish it. A really nice, fresh, local lunch. The fit out is not modern or fancy at all, very casual.
Love the food here they are so tasty, fresh and authentic. Service is always friendly and attentive too. Feel so welcomed whenever we dine in here. Must try dishes: Vietnamese coleslaw (with choice of prawn, chicken, beef or pork). My all time favourite is the rare beef salad. Must also try the beef in vine leaf, shaking diced beef.
A lovely restaurant with genuine Vietnamese food. We loved the food. Very generous sized meals and their tea served with our meals was just right. The staff were lovely and the toilets were clean - a little walk to the back of the restaurant for the dunny.
Overall highly recommend trying the food here. Great experience.
