Great location! Right next to the play grounds. I took away small sweet potato chips and kid sized fish and chips for about $13. The sweet potato chips was quite a generous serve for $4 but u fortunately the chips on the kids meal was not cooked through.
I quite enjoyed the Carriage Cafe. I ordered the breakfast tower, a latte and babychino. The food was delicious! Lovely hollandaise. The coffee was nice and the babychino was perfect temperature (too often they are made too hot). Nice location on the esplanade near the play equipment. Will definitely return.

Best coffee hands down. I'm not sure how he makes it, but it's the best coffee I've tasted.
They only use Grinders in which I've had many times before, but it doesn't taste like this.
It is a little pricey @ $4.80, but hey this is Perth, apparently we're all wealthy miners.....not

Pretty decent. Visited this cafe for brekky on Friday 21st Feb 2014 while attending a conference in Freo. Ordered the brekky mexican burrito with eggs. Was presented very well and the food tasted good too.
Was impressed with the roasted red chilli on top of well cooked eggs!
Only regret is their EFTPOS machine charges extra for card payments which I find frustrating about restaurants in Perth.

Very reasonably priced breakfast options and great coffee. Food arrived very quickly. Close to Esplanade Hotel, would come again for quick and well priced breakfast in Fremantle.
Satisfied customer.. I had the morroccan chicken salad and my friend had the lentil burger. The chicken was tender and beautifully spiced and the lentil burger gave any of the other 'gourmet' burger places a run for their money. We went early afternoon and the setting in the park was delightful, of course you run the risk of interaction with a bird but its a small price to pay to be surrounded by trees rather than cars and busy streets. The coffee was beautiful and much cheaper than other freo cafe's. The staff were friendly and hospitable. I will definitely be back, with family, friends, or my dog.
In 1912, the idea of building a cafe in the Esplanade park full of Norfolk pines was fantastic. Today, this 109 years old Carriage Cafe is still serving the community. Amazing! This cafe has a splendid view of the park. Surrounding this cafe is a natural environment for wildlife mainly birds. The Carriage Cafe was built around a few century-old Norfolk pines, making it very unique in Perth. The environment is peaceful and beautiful. A nearby children playground is convenient for the family. The friendly staff brought me a cup of hot flat white in the cold morning. The hot deal was quiche. Fast sold items are fish cake and small sausage rolls. I have a wonderful morning here, and I appreciate what this cafe can give as another relaxation place in Freo. Enjoy!
One of my favourite cafes, it feels so chilled sitting here looking out at the beautiful park. The food is always delicious and the staff friendly. They have put in new furniture and decorations and it has a good vibe going. Roll on summer, it'll be a great place to be!
my first visit here early in the morn sun. ordered breakfast burger, price very reasonable,flavour outstanding ambience very peaceful .service very quick but it was early coffee looked fresh I'm coming back. also plenty of room parking nearby wheelchair friendly great spot cheers
