well i'll start off by thanking all of the people who have left such poor reviews for mav's... clearly your "constructive criticism" has been well received by the team...
kylie and i had nothing but exceptional service and an awesome meal... for us to have a share plate that we couldn't finish is a little unheard of... i ate, i ate... then i ate some more but couldn't get through it... delicious tucker...
to be honest i did get the feeling the bad reviews were weighing both on the owner/manager and his staff... who were always quick to make sure everything was ok every time i looked around (was honestly only catching my breath before digging back in)...
conclusion is, don't be put off by a few reviews that aren't favourable... we loved mav's and would recommend it to friends....
Absolute BEST seafood platter I have ever seen. It’s worth visiting Geelong, just to eat at this restaurant! Amazing service, great wine, lovely atmosphere and the freshest most delicious food! 10/10 ����

Amazing food! Surprised my partner by going here as a treat after his continues complaining on how we only manage to find average dinners together. He was shook with how good the food was, reminded him of when he use to live overseas. Snapper was to die for, happy smiling owners, perfect atmosphere, can’t wait to see the new store open! Definitely will be coming back :))
We wanted to have a good hearty meal when we are at Geelong. A good Greek meal was what we craved and Mavs didn't disappoint us. A good lovely staff who was always happy to suggest. We decided to try local Greek dish along with our regular favourite Souvalki. The slow cooked lamb shoulder was perfectly cooked with meat falling off in harmony. It was good size too. Souvalki with its tzatziki n pit bread was awesome too. Highly recommend this place for both food and its service.
Staff were great, very welcoming. Prices were adequate, the size of the dishes were pretty big. We went in a group of 4. We loved the greek oysters, very tasty!... but other seafood from the menu were just ok (saganaki seafood and seafood pasta): too much tomato sauce for our taste, covering all of the other flavours. Traditional meats like the biftekia and especially the kleftiko: wooow! The lamb was soooo tender and so flavourful and juicy!

Friendly service .Tasty greek food the grilled calamari beautifully presented.The succulent lamb gyro was delicious and reasonably priced worth a visit .
Yesterday I had lunch with my friends and ordered a Seafood Platter. I shared it with my partner and we were so full at the end, we struggled to finish it BUT it was so fresh, we did not leave anything on the plate. Service was outstanding and We tried an Greek wine which to my surprise was outstanding. Highly recommended!!!! I will try the Meat Platter next time..........
