This is our favourite home-style Japanese restaurant in this price point in Melbourne. The food is authentic, balanced, not pre-prepared and so delicious. Their traditional roots show how to serve simple Japanese dishes exceptionally well. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The ordering system is also ingenious and super easy as nothing can get misinterpreted. We’ve tried the four other Japanese restaurants in this strip in Glen Waverley and none of them come remotely close to how good this restaurant and its food is.

A cute Japanese inspired restaurant with hearty flavoursome foods. While the ramen I ordered didn't quite resemble the broth of the ramen in Japan, it was still pleasant and seasoned well. For the table, we also ordered gyoza which looked and tasted equally delicious. Other dishes ordered included the dipping soba and sukiyaki, both of which were well received.

Excellent restaurant, authentic japanese. Freshest sashimi and beautifully cooked main meals. Oyster are delicious and fresh. Im surprised by the bad reviews as we come here often and its always lovely. Staff are very friendly and accomodating

Kanji is a hidden Japanese restaurant located on the second floor, right above Bon Chicken & beer in Kingsway. I feel like they have not been given enough credit as the staff are lovely & you get great quality Japanese food. I've been here twice and both meals were faultless. On my most recent visit, I ordered their teriyaki chicken bento box and shared the soft shell crab sushi roll with my mum. The teriyaki chicken was cooked to perfection and the chicken slightly grilled, which added an extra hint of flavour. The teriyaki sauce was really tasty too.

Little quaint Japanese eatery located on the upper level of Kingsway. Some nice authentic interiors with the Japanese decor and tables. Food is reasonable - The sukiyaki a little on the sweeter side though. Staff were friendly and fairly prompt with service.

This is really wonderful for Izakaya. One of the most authentic places I've visited in Melbourne, in terms of both food and atmosphere. We ordered lots of little plates and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the skewers and the sushi, which is really fresh.

Went here one friday night on a whim. turned out to have Niigata and Yebisu Beers listed on menu... Excited was an understatement, Then i tried the D07 Deep Fried Chicken.. Safe to say every friday night you will find me there. looking to do a birthday shindig to share this experiance with all my friends this friday :) :)

Couldn't even walk after I and my husband finished "Sakura set", so full I was. Tasty, beautifully served and very filling! One of my favorite places on Kings Way. Highly recommended.
