Delicious food and lovely hospitality. Have wanted to come here for a while and I'm really glad we did. Very nice atmosphere inside too, gorgeous old building.
We really like this place! My husband and I have been here a few times and we always end up ordering the banquet for two. The food is served steaming hot, and is tasty and authentic. The staff are very well organised and are ready to assist you with whatever you need. I think we paid around $120 (with a drink) each time we visited, which is reasonable for a special dinner - not great if you want a quick meal, which often we do. Perhaps it would be a lot cheaper if you ordered a couple of dishes and shared...not sure. If you know a lot of people in the area and want privacy, I would probably go somewhere else. The tables are quite close together, which is good because it gives a nice warm, cosy feeling, but bad if you want an intimate meal together. I would definitely recommend the Kathmandu Palace!!!
Delicious and authentic!. I spent a month in Nepal and so this dinner had some high expectations. They met them!
We were a group of four and had been warned that the portions individually could be a bit small so we went for the banquet option ($36.90pp). It had a nice assortment of dishes and we were comfortably full afterwards. The pumpkin dish was by far everyone's favourite and we almost wished we could have swapped it for something for a second serve!
The staff were very attentive for a busy Friday night with the place packed with people but we didn't have to wait and making a reservation for four was relatively simple. It's probably good that this place is tucked away on Nile street because if it was on Jetty Rd. you'd never be able to make a reservation.
Will definitely go back! The papadum in place of bread before the meal was a nice touch
