Best French toast in Hawthorn. Very tasty, lots of fruits so it's not all just sugar and maple syrup. Lovely coffee. Very friendly and warm staff. First visit and very impressed.
One of favourite spots in Hawthorn. Quirky decor. Friendly staff great coffee and breakfasts never fail to satisfy. If you are after a real treat - try the waffles!
Had a lovely breakfast at Le Flaneur when I was visiting Melbourne. Couldn't resist the waffles and loved every bit of it :) great coffee and service. Would definitely visit again!
I'm here once or twice a week and I love it. The service is always very polite and though I don't drink coffee I've been told it's good. I recommend the Croque Monsieur for something new, or the burger.
French toast was our mission for the day – I’m quite glad we chose Le Flaneur. I had a lovely dinner there a while ago and was quite keen to try out their menu this year. It’s so seasonal I do wish they kept their current menu on their facebook – my friend would have been quite disappointed if indeed they didn’t have French toast at this French inspired brunch location (we’d both be rather surprised too).
Best coffee in Hawthorn- friendly staff are knowledgable and consistent. Tasty food too!
Bev's review. Sometimes I brunch here with the ladies from our bowls club and I must say that tall bearded waiter with the tattoos is just as yummy as my hot skinny decaf latte. He is the Sonny to my Cher.
The food is absolutely delish and I recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful food experience.
Le Flaneur is the perfect prescription for my tummy lust
Neighbourhood cafe with potential. I ordered meatballs with eggplant ragout and polenta cake, that was yum. Generous portion with fresh flat-leaf parsley, coriander, mint which really lifted the dish. Partner ordered French toast with bacon and seasonal fruit, that was good. The portion wasn't as generous, though.
Can't say I liked their coffee. I ordered a long black with a side of hot milk, and the coffee tasted rather acidic, without much body to it. Perhaps it'll be a short mac next time, or tea.
Service was reasonable, albeit a little slow. But then, a hungry person can be an impatient person so I won't hold this against Le Flaneur.
Looking forward to the next visit.
Best coffee in town! Very friendly staffs, a must place to visit when you in the area.
I have been here about 5 times now for brunch and it has never disappointed. Great coffee, good service, and a nice atmosphere. Smashed avocado is my fave, and the poached eggs are always perfectly cooked. We'll definitely keep going back. One recommendation to the owners though - it wouldnt hurt to have a high chair - it was hard work for a 2 year old to eat breakfast from a low adult chair (we brought some friends with a child).
