Good old fashioned fish and chips. Great quick service. Had the Aussie Fish and Chip, serving size will satisfy any hunger. Also conveniently close to Lido cinemas.
Generally, the F & C here are VERY good. There is great choice, service, and value. When it isn't (normally not major concerns), the owner responds positively and endeavours to rectify. I like this place a lot.
Saw a photo of their sweet potato cakes on Facebook and had to come try them! They're even more delicious than they look! So crunchy and golden on the outside! Also got one of the Reel Deal boxes and can't believe the value for money! The seafood is great quality and you get so much in the box! Really impressed, will be back for sure!
Tried these after a game of football. It seems pricey but the serves are gigantic! The fish is very fresh and all the sides were great as well. Will return again as we walked away very happy.

We ordered the double pack and had enough to feed four. Fish was not as fresh as I would've liked with a strong fishy taste. Chips are nice but need some more seasoning.
Been going to Hooked Fish and Chipper once or twice a week for ages! Try not to miss their BaraMondays! Good healthy food. Great Staff! Only hope the front door will fixed before winter arrives! Highly recommended by a very fussy health conscious patron! Thank you guys!

Come here often for their $10 lunch deal; fish burrito and chips (other options too) which is always great value and I LOVE their 20% discount on Tuesdays for Hawthorn locals (uni student here, love me a discount) HOWEVER..
This place is just missing something! The staff are lovely, the food is good - but only feels worth it when it's discounted. The fish is always well cooked but never tastes overly fresh, the salads are always slightly over-seasoned/dressed.
Perhaps I'll just stick to my lunch time deals Mon-Fri and be happy with that 🤗

Lunch at Hooked Fish and Chips. It's been on the list for years! Today we had a meeting nearby and made it happen! The offer is at all three locations: Fitzroy, Windsor & Glenferrie. Lunch Specials - Even on Weekends!. Yes we are local, but still lunch deals are better :P . Plenty of seats, though if you come during the lunch rush. Never fear! They do takeaway and you can hang out in the common areas or park next to the library down the road.

Anzac Day, there's not many shops opening in Hawthorn area. (Were meant to visit a Japanese cafe) We ended up going to hooked as my partner saids their fish and chips are quite nice.
Paying a bit extra for the surcharge on holidays - no worries. We ordered a lunch set with grilled fish and calamari, they aren't char grilled but it was freshly done makes a difference and chips are well seasoned not too salty and I love the calamari it was very tender.
The only thing to criticize is the seats were a bit filthy and sticky - maybe the dreadful weather I can see dead bugs laying around the window edge - needs more cleaning.
Service was friendly and attentive and under a less busy environment I did actually enjoyed my meal in a chill pace.
