I LOVE Laurent Bakery! One of my favourite spots in Hawthorn. Their cakes a mcdreamy and their croissants are mcsteamy! Highly recommend!
When visiting uni mates I love to stop here and grab a sandwich to go. Always super fresh and filled with good ingredients - my fav is the vegetarian filled with roasted veggies 😍
Every Sunday we get breads and croissants from Laurent Bakery in Hawthorn. The home style brunch with the family, cousins and friends. This tradition has been going for 3 years and doesn't look like it will be stopping anytime soon. Thanks for the consistently fantastic product!
Great spot to watch the traffic of Glenferrie road go past while enjoying a coffee and croissant! Lovely atmosphere and staff do a wonderful job of looking after me every time I visit
An amazing place to have a cup of coffee and some desserts. They don’t have the best desserts in Melbourne, but the macaroons are definitely amazing.
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I must say this is some kind of dessert you not find easily around Melbourne and I was glad I found this place.
Food: the dessert was small, but a good portion. The reason is the dessert is a little bit sweeter than desserts made in Melbourne, which is something I quite like. But the thing I liked the most was the texture that was similar to a mousse, very delicate and soft. The chocolate also bright and instead, which was amazing. I just loved! But I just need to say if you don’t like sweet, this is not a place for you.
Service: friendly, good. Overall, nice. The place is small but cozy (:
Price: a little expensive for the dessert, but worth every penny! $ 9,75 per dessert 🧁
Very nice desserts and pastries. Outdoor area is beautiful to sit and relax with a cake and coffee. Their bread is good too.
Vegetarian friendly too
As with all the Laurents I have been to over the years, this one provides the same, consistent level of quality food, beverages and staffing.
I stopped by for a mid-afternoon skinny latte which was made perfectly. Staring at the array of cakes in the glass cabinet, I realised that I had to buy one for a post dinner dessert. "Christine" caught my eye - it was a stylish chocolate cake with an airy texture and chocolate mousse surrounding a creme brûlée core.
Needless to say, it was a rich and satisfying end to the night!
Every time I pass by a Laurent cafe, I can never stop myself from going in and treating myself to one of their stunning French desserts (not good, since there are so many outlets around Melbourne now!).
I tried the Castel (hazelnut meringue, hazelnut cream, nougatine, dark chocolate), which definitely exceeded my expectations! The combination of creamy, soft and crispy textures was delightful, and the hazelnut aroma definitely cake through.
The only bad point is that it is slightly over-priced for what you get, so it’s definitely not a regular thing!
Byron's Vanilla Slice Blog
+3.5
Last time I was in Laurent I made the mistake of not eating their vanilla custard mille-feuille and returned to find this summer offering in its place. Slighty out of the normal criteria, I couldn't resist trying its complex flavours and reviewing it nevertheless. . Somehow all of the elements work together nicely. The subtle berry flavouring hits you first, followed by a creaminess and an aftertaste of smooth mint. The pastry is delightful, almost biscuit-like and the decorations on top are what you'd expect from a high end pattiserie. However, the price is also predictable and goodies like this really are just treats!
A great little place to have a coffee, French cake, and a light lunch.
The services was fast and friendly.
The food was tasty, and the coffee was strong.
As a lover of cakes, Laurent never disappoints. With branches scattered all over Melbourne, it’s always easy to pick up a cake from them.
☀️The sunny bits:
The Charlotte is my all time favourite cake from Laurent. With a perfect combination of raspberry, beetroot and sponge cake, it’s a beautiful looking cake. Swipe to see a close second - the citrus tart. Full of tangy curd in a lovely buttery biscuit base.
☁️The cloudy bits:
It can get a bit chaotic when they are busy but otherwise it’s all good.
⭐️The forecast:
I can never say no to cake especially if it’s from Laurent!
We were at MLC this morning for our son’s VCE Music performance exam and since we were not allowed in, we decided to walk to the nearby Glenferrie Rd shopping strip. Popped into this bakery and grabbed some takeaways. Previously we bought their products from Coles however the ones here taste better. Could have been 5 stars if only we can dine-in. Save this for another visit upon opening up soon.
Best place for breakfast and evening coffee. I love quiche, Rubis and my soy cappuccino. It's the best soy cappuccino I had. Thank you for the best coffee ❤️❤️
Brilliant service with a classic interior. Staff are friendly, welcoming and incredibly thoughtful. They saw that we were dining in for two and cut the pastries in half. Atmosphere is great as well! Definitely recommended the Berry Danish, so yummy.
